You might as well have said "Unfortunately Portland is out of the running."From a couple of these reports, it seems like Memphis is attaching the #4 pick to Parsons to get him moved. So it wouldn't take someone like CJ to get him. Unfortunately, Portland is over the cap so they can't just absorb his salary and would have to send players back.
Nobody can really just absorb his salary, but there are surely ways to send them back little enough that the return receipts would be basically negligible. From a couple of these reports, it seems like Memphis is attaching the #4 pick to Parsons to get him moved. So it wouldn't take someone like CJ to get him. Unfortunately, Portland is over the cap so they can't just absorb his salary and would have to send players back. Memphis isn't taking guys like Turner and whatever else to make it match because they would just have another poor contract although Turner's is less and he is playing better than Parson.
However, if there was a way to figure it out, I would do it to get the #4 because it is something like that which Portland is going to have to do to impact their franchise.
The player contracts count only as much as their guaranteed if they guaranteement date is before July 1st.Wow--didn't realize that Indiana has three separate players with $10M deals that are only partially-guaranteed for 2018-19.
If any team's primed to make or facilitate a big-money deal this month, it's them.
- Bogdan Bogdanovich--10.5M (1.5M guaranteed)
- Darren Collison--10M (2M guaranteed)
- Al Jefferson--10M (4M guaranteed)
I believe that's only applicable to contracts signed after the adoption of the 2017 CBA, that contracts signed under the 2011 CBA still include the non-guaranteed amount. The player contracts count only as much as their guaranteed if they guaranteement date is before July 1st.
Yeah, and at least Collison and Bogdanovic were signed after.I believe that's only applicable to contracts signed after the adoption of the 2017 CBA, that contracts signed under the 2011 CBA still include the non-guaranteed amount.
Gotcha--didn't realize they had only been on 2 year deals.Yeah, and at least Collison and Bogdanovic were signed after.
fuck the Lakers....I don't think he'll end up there...there are much better deals for SA out thereHe’s going to LA.
Ball+Ingram+Hart for Kawhi. Then PG and LeBron will follow.
No--allegedly Pop is unwilling to deal in-conference.He’s going to LA.

CJ, Collins, and 1st... make it happen Neil!!!
Kawhi will just say he won’t re-sign in Boston or pull an Irving and threaten to take season ending surgery if he does go there.No--allegedly Pop is unwilling to deal in-conference.
Boston's more likely, IMO.
Lakers are also going to have difficulty matching salary, since I seriously doubt the Spurs are willing to take Deng.Kawhi will just say he won’t re-sign in Boston or pull an Irving and threaten to take season ending surgery if he does go there.
No they won’t, Kawhi only makes 18m and the Lakers have a metric fuckton of cap space.Lakers are also going to have difficulty matching salary, since I seriously doubt the Spurs are willing to take Deng back.
If I'm the Clippers, I'm offering Harris and 12/13.
True, I was thinking about before 7/1.No they won’t, Kawhi only makes 18m and the Lakers have a metric fuckton of cap space.
Lonzo, Ingram, and Hart works for Kawhi.
Every city plays to their strengths which is just fine. So every Billionaire in a small market should play to his and spend whatever he wants to bring it home. Lift that freaking soft cap and see how fast this franchise makes the next step with Paul playing to his strength. He could purchase Ford, GM & Chrysler with pocket change.I love free enterprise!
If you've put in enough work you can accomplish anything and create your own pathway.
The only thing the league can do to keep players from exercising their rights and building Super teams is probably a hard cap on teams, which Im not in favor.
Nobody wins if Kawhi goes to the Lakers... because that means LeBron and PG follow.I think lonzo , Ingram and hart is a no brainer for the Spurs. 3 young Players with a lot of Upside , Maybe they win that trade
