I just pasted--didn't use any of the icons.

when I copy/paste links from YouTube, they tend to have that "youtu.be" format, so that was the only reason I tried that. Otherwise, I agree, there's no reason that anyone should simply know that intuitively.

Instead of changing the links that didn't work, copy them and past them to a different line.

This one is correct. Only thing that needs to be done is to copy that and re-paste it just as letters, not as a link (so when you paste it, the characters need to be black, not red), and then the forum software will display the tweet.
