You know what: if Aldridge leaves, I think I'd just want to do a Philly and use our cap space to absorb contracts other teams want to dump so long as they give us picks. I want to crash and burn and get a shot at a top pick rather than just fill up space on second-tier guys and just get worse picks (or lose the pick altogether).

Same here, I would want a complete rebuild. But what about Dame? Would you keep him? Would he hurt our chances to get a top pick?

What do we need to tank for? We have a young all star point guard, our other young guard was arguably the best player on the entire squad in the playoffs, and a couple young big men who have also flashed in plumlee and Leonard. Then you have a 19 year lottery pick with freak measurables and actual skill that just needs time to develop. We're not in that bad of a position. We can fill our holes through FA in the next two summers.

Jabari young was the beat guy for... the Spurs before coming here. A little bias there.

Really? I think he is refreshingly realistic and not the requisite 'homer' that we get from most of the TV Blazer associated media.

:matrix:

I only get a dumbass vibe from him. Same with Rice and they're polar opposites on the homer spectrum.

I thought Jabari was in Cleveland before he came here and Haynes just sort of swapped places with him

Woj just said Blazers are still in it. And what he gathers from his sources, its between Blazers and Spurs..thats it

This is great news. I been really pessimistic with his return but this GREAT NEWS.

I can even forgive LMA if he goes to SA because how can you hate on that? But anyways did I mention this is GREAT NEWS

We have 40 mil in cap space and no bad contracts to get rid of. We can retool fairly quickly if LA leaves.

Yeah I agree. We shouldn't necessarily be in as much of a rush to contend immediately as with LaMarcus. But if LMA does leave the Blazers can first aim for other max guys such as Monroe. A Monroe for LaMarcus swap would save us $5 million on the cap to upgrade another position and would give us a player 5 years younger entering his prime instead of declining from it. The NBA changes so unexpectedly much year to year none of us know for sure which of these players will be better.

If we strike out on all the top free agents we can still try to sign 3 or 4 solid players that other teams overlook. Thats how the Hawks got Paul Millsap. Rolo and Wes could even be brought back on cap friendly deals if they don't get blown away with other teams offers in free agency. If we get some improvements from two of Dame, CJ, Meyers, Plumlee, Vonley then along with some free agents we could be a solid young up and coming playoff team. We have a lot of quality pieces on this roster, and no bad contracts. Without LaMarcus its not as if we're the Nets or 76ers.

Lol, spurstalk is going crazy over this. Some of them say they'd rather Aldridge go to the lakers than resign with us.

Most of them think it's a done deal to san Antonio.

Assholes

I would think that Neil Olshey would have sat the guys down when the season ended and told them not to give out any info about who is coming or going. The Blazer organization would not want them to leak that info.

I don't care where LaMarcus goes as long as he doesn't resign here.
