Stern: We did such a good job today we're going to do it again tomorrow starting at 2 o'clock.

David Stern, after the meeting: "We did such a good job today, we're doing it again tomorrow!"

Stern: Both sides have agreed that until we have an overall deal we don't have a deal on anything,

Stern on 82 games: Have given them the sense that we're going to knock ourselves out consistent with best interests of fans/players.

Stern says NBA will try to schedule as many games as possible. Whether it means 82 games or not remains to be seen.

Stern: "Obviously we're partnering with the union to get in as many games as we can."

Stern: I didn't quantify how much progress we made. It was what we could bang out in a mere 15 hours but I wouldn't describe it.

Stern: I think we return to the split when we finish with the system. Right now it hasbeeen profitable to return to the system.

Stern: "we will turn to the (revenue) split when we're done with the system..."

Stern: "I have a pretty good idea of what [the union] would like."

Stern: likely will stick with system issues tomorrow

Stern: We need a certain number of days to have training camps, sign players, have exhibitions and get the caleendar going.

Stern: I leave these guys alone for a little bit of time and all hell breaks loose (regarding last Thursday's blowup).

Stern hinting that, obviously, with the calendar being what it is it's unlikely any games will be played the last two weeks of November

Silver: There's no question that today was a better day thaan last Thursday. It's still too early ... to express confidence.

Silver: "No question we made progress on some significant issues..."

Silver says they know what issues they will tackle tomorrow. Today crystalized what those issues were.

Stern: This has been an arduous, difficult and productive day. Tomorrow will be the same, if not more so.

Silver: We did ultimately take their suggestion that we park the issue of the split in revenues. They know where we stand.

Stern: "There's no deal on anything unless there's a deal on everything."

Despite NBA, NBPA downplaying expectations, "significant progress" has been made toward agreement on system issues, sources tell Y! Sports.

Says one source briefed on talks: "They need (Thursday) to punch it over end-line."

Trying NOT to get my hopes up, but I think I will sleep a little better tonight then I did after last weeks press conference! Night Night!

Oh man, this would be incredible. Don't drop the ball now.

Only thing is, our guys are fragile enough as is. Filling in 82 games in 5 months instead of 6 will put us in more risk for injury. I hope they all just say fuck it and stick to a 70 games season or something.
