Words no one in the media room wanted to hear: "This session could go on for another couple days." -- Hunter.

sam_amick Sam Amick
Source in room, when asked midway through negotiations if a deal could get done, said of NBA group, "Don't think they have the authority."

gotta bring in PA and MJ perhaps? That can't be a good thing.

Not saying it will get done, but I'm told a relevant dynamic is Stern et al taking these discussions back to their group.

Progress was made on three system issues, source tells Y! Sports.

They keep mentioning that there are so many issues. That's the cause. It's just too complex of a change all at once.

The owners should have tried to change only about 3 things from the previous CBA this time, and gone for a 5-year agreement instead of 10 years. 5 years from now, they could pursue more issues.

Hunter says sides aren't agreed on 50-50 revenue split, but that's semantics. They'll say nothing's agreed until a deal. But they're there.

Okay. Progress made on 3 of 5 system issues, according to source. MLE still a problem. And a couple of new issues added to mix.

After calling deal within "striking distance" a few weeks ago, union's determined to under sell progress to keep players off rollercoaster.

Meanwhile, source says players "ready to go" with disclaimer of interest filing w/NLRB if talks break down. Different from decertification.

This remains a tenuous process but the owners wouldn't have, as Stern termed it,, "stopped the clock," without real progress. Onto Thursday.

12 hours, and Hunter says they didn't even get into the BRI split. Apparently most of the time in these meetings is spent apart.

1 morsel of hope today: ending talks relatively early allows more time Thu. to try & break thru-or at least keep clock stopped until Fri.

Your new pic--you and Blake have the same head, only in reverse, upside-down.

See it? His pointed chin is your pointed horn at the top. Your double chin, as broad as the curvature of the horizon, is the Mighty Mantle of his noble cranium. If you don't see it, sit on the floor upside-down and look at the picture.

this could go on until Friday night with nothing to show for it :(

Makes you wonder which came first, the chicken or the egg.

this is the song that never ends... it keeps going on and on my friends.... some people, started singing it not knowing what it was, but now they keep on singing it forever just because this is the song that neverrr endddddsssss.......

12-hours and made some progress...

I want this to end yesterday but I really don't want the system issues to be compromised. If you're not Chi/NY/BK/Mia/LA, your team could be left in a same situation that Denver and Utah are going through right now. They did get a lot in return but the other teams acquired BY FAR the best player in the trade(s). This trend has already begun and will likely continue with CP3 and Dwight Howard if the new CBA isn't fixed.

Basically the players are willing to give up money to have the same system. The inmates are running the asylum. This needs to stop for the survival of the small and mid markets.

Thanks Lamb Chop. BTW, you suck. :)

Sad but true. Man I want to see some NBA so bad, but at what expense? All I can do is hold out hope that Superstars don't win championships.... :sigh:

Source says a deal hasn't been reached between NBA and @TheNBPA, but reasons 4 optimism continue. And I haven't been the optimistic type.
