Sometimes I feel bad for the reporters who have to stake out these big shots at these odd hours.

Then I remember they get paid to do this at a five star hotel, and stop feeling so bad for them.

Billy Hunter says he is not going to LA tomorrow.

Billy Hunter says he isn't going to LA for players meeting, and will return to meet with NBA at 2 pm on Monday.

Word out of NY is NBA owners/David Stern refuse comment on talks, per agreement w/union. Union head Billy Hunter says meeting Monday at 2 pm

Fisher: "We're not necessarily any closer than we were tonight.

Better that NBA negotiators are reconvening Mon than not, but if a deal was close, wouldn't they just keep going tonight?

ChrisMannixSI............

There was NO discussion of split of the BRI at Sunday night's meeting, according to a source briefed on the talks. System only.

RicBucher........

It takes 4 seconds to say, "53" and then say, "No, 50." I'm taking no progress in 5 hours to mean, basically, they said that 4500 times.

My guess is before if they had agreed on the BRI split, there still would have been a lot to work out. Now I am guessing if they do eventually agree on that number, there will be much less that could hit a possible snag.

Hopefully by the end of the day tomorrow, everything will be done but about 4 % points. Then two weeks later it will get down to the 51-52 % split in favor of the players.

WojYahooNBA......

Without framework of an agreement on Monday, Stern has insisted he will cancel the first two weeks of regular season.

briancmahoney.....

Key detail tonight is that sides didn't talk about the BRI split. So the biggest remaining hurdle waits until the final day.

briancmahoney.........

Though Mon is Stern's deadline for cancellations, Fisher mentioned possibility of meeting into middle of next week. Please, God no.

In '98, NBA & union had one meeting before games were canceled. Today will be their 6th meeting in 11 days. Effort at least

@ZachLowe_SI: Source close to talks tells SI.com luxury tax structure is main system issue holding up a deal.

The Lockout is officially over. I just unlocked my gate so Matt Bonner could cut my grass this morning. #MowUnited

Chris Mannix is a douche!

The players launched their "#LETUSPLAY" campaign over on Twitter.

It's just so #LAME, as if they have no power in this situation. They won on the hard cap issue and now don't want to budge on the 53% stance. SMH

It's hilarious that pretty much all of the responses to these tweets are people calling them out on their greed. If they did this to inspire sympathy from the fans, it failed miserably.

While I am more on the side of the players than the owners, the "Let us play" idea is so blatantly disingenuous that it can't help but backfire. I suggest "don't kill a good thing" as an alternative.

OCCUPY NBA Headquarters!

All key parties are here. Stern and Silver strode up the street and into the hotel moments ago, shortly after union officials.

Billy Hunter on today's negotiations: "We're going to go in & see what we're going to do, see if we can make it happen."

As yesterday, Fisher and Evans are the only players here.

Uh oh, is there a grassy knoll anywhere in sight?

ChrisMannixSI.....

If the PR spin battle between the NBA and Union were a game, it would be NBA 176, Union 3. They are that much better at it.
