According to Bloomberg News, Paul said "hope so" when asked if there will be another meeting this weekend.

Source says that two sides also "couldn't agree on final pieces of system." No new sessions scheduled. Kaboom.

Look as though talks have ended. Media have been told players are leaving and will speak in lobby. NBA news conf will be live on NBA.com

The two sides had come too far to just walk away from table for long. Would be shocked if they don't regroup and get right back to work.

Alex Kennedy: Sure, they had tentative agreements on several system issues, but those could be out the window too if BRI talks don't go anywhere

@alexkennedynba: No future meetings scheduled and more cancellations will be announced soon. We're basically back where we started.

Mike Fisher: Players wouldnt budge from 53. Now they wont budge from 52. I think WE can guess where this is inevitably going. Can THEY?

David Stern will announce cancellation of more games this evening, sources said.

Eric Koreen: I'd be surprised if Stern didn't see this coming. He'll cancel another two weeks, even thought they couldn't start until Dec. 1 anyway.

You have to wonder just how serious the owners are about negotiating a real deal?

From the sounds of talks in the past few days, the owners have given as well. Revenue sharing, Bird exceptions, No hard cap. I think it's fair to say they have been trying to negotiate a real deal. I also think it's fair to say that financially they don't feel they can move above 50/50 and stay financially solid for ALL of their teams

Keep going back to what Silver says: NBA sees system, BRI as two different worlds. League can keep waiting players out until it wins both.

Fisher: "ended talks for today, for now..." Players dropped BRI to 52.5.

Fisher says union "really not quite sure" if owners are at 50 or 47 on BRI. Players still at 52.5.

Fisher: "We're not when we will meet again...Hopeful we can close this out..."

NBA not televising/broadcasting NBPA's comments ... Interesting

Fisher: "Today wasn't the day to try and close this out...."

Fisher says union doesn't want to lose taxpaying teams as options for players with exceptions. That remains big issue.

deepsixer3: Hunter said he and Fisher made it clear to Stern they wouldn't be able to sell 50-50 split to players along w/ the system changes.

sam_amick: RT @deepsixer3: Hunter: "We did what [Stern] said [he] needed and it was like their eyes got bigger. They just wanted more and more."

Hunter said when Stern told me last night he was prepared to make economic move, he "snookered me. ... He made a move. He went to 47."

The NBA will cancel regular season games through November 30th, a league source tells Y! Sports.

No further talks have been scheduled, though Fisher called it a "day-to-day process."
