<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pistol @ Apr 7 2007, 04:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I was disappointed by it a bit too but I gave it like a B, B- not a D wasnt as exciting as Crash but I think the Nanny was the best all around actor/actress in the story she did a really good job who would you pick BCB</div> The whole Nanny part was sad...especially those little kids when she left them in the desert. I gave it a 'D' because the movie was not interesting, 1/3rd of the movie could've been taken out and none of the story would have changed (the Japanese girl scenes)....I mean they spend and hour following that Japanese girl and all that comes out of the story with her is that her father needs to visit the police station because a gun he gave as a present was used in a crime? I get the fact that him giving the gun to the trader started it...but I thought it was a waste of time. No actor really stood out to me at all.... At least Crash was interesting, Babel was a complete letdown for me.

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

I just watched 'Death of a President'. (Just came out on video) SPOILERS**** It's pretty much Bush going to Chicago for a speech while his secret service chief talks about the security and problems involving the protesters. So Bush gives his speech and gets killed, then the investigation...etc... When Bush was killed it was like he really got killed....it was like looking into the future....Dick Cheney became President, the movie is talked to you through the various people in Bush's security and personal team....I thought the movie was interesting, you learn a lot about the presidents protection among other things. Near the end with the black guy it gets interesting and sad. Death of a President - B

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

The Pursuit of Happyness 8/10I liked the movie. I thought Will Smith did a really nice job, and the chemistry between him and his son was great. Also, the movie depicted this man's struggles very well, and it was interesting, and I felt for the characters. My only complaint is that it ended too soon. I would have liked to see more of him and his son when they finally got their life on track...

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

I saw Blades of Glory today. I've never had as low expectations going into a movie as this one since My Super Ex Girlfriend. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't great, but it was a typical formulaic Will Ferrell movie that I'd give a B minus, but had a lot of big laughs."They laughed at Louis Armstrong when he said he'd go to the moon, but now he's up there laughing at them"And the guy who played Gob in Arrested Devt. was great in this.

Bought MementoMost creative/hardest movie Ive watched to follow, so sickAnd borrowed Seven, American Beauty and Men on Fire from my friend just watched Seven, sickk movie, easily one of the best homicide movies or if the best?

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

Just got back from Grindhouse! It was pretty awesome. I liked the oldschool feel. Planet Terror was pretty cool, very bloody, like it a lot. Freddy Rodriquez was badass, as was the chick. The imbetween was pretty funny with the S.S. Werewolves and the Thanksgiving scenes....(never do a splits on a trampoline with a knife poking through it). Tarentino's film was pretty sweet, it kind of dragged on and on with the girls but the car chase at the end was definitely worth it. Bottom line, it was fun and highly entertaining, really liked it a lot. Grindhouse - A

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

I saw Children of Men yesterday. I thought it was good, but kind of predictable. Never the less, Clive Owen and Michael Caine were superb in thier roles. When I say predictable, I mean that there really arent a ton of twists, but that really isnt a bad thing in a movie like this. I'd give it an overall 7 out of 10. Also, I love Memento and think that it is one of the best thought out movies that I've ever seen. It tooke me like 3 times to fully pick up everything, and I still see something new in it everytime I see it. It might be one of the more underated movies out there.

I saw Office Space for the 34.45th time on Sunday, such a hilarious movie. 9.5/10.

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

Saw Disturbia. The movie is so sleek and cool before all the bad stuff happens. Just seeing the main actor bored out of his mind and watching the neighbors is interesting and enjoyable....the last 20 minutes were a complete dissapointment though....nothing unique about the it....

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

I finally saw 300 the movie. It was good.... in a mystery science theatre 3000 sort of way. It was so ridiculous and badly acted at times I couldn't help but laughing out loud, it was basically a blatantly homosexual version of LOTR the twin towers, or any of Brian Jaques' books. The only difference between this movie and your typical B movie is funding, advertising, and hype.As an action movie: FAs a comedy: A

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

I think people seriously overrate how good the acting is and stuff like that. While it can be annoying if the acting is absolutely horrible(I.e. movies like Epic Movie) I don't see what's that bad of average acting. All I really look for in a movie is how entertained I was and if it wasn't completely unoriginal or predictable.

The fight scenes were awesome. It was hyped for a reason, it was a badass movie.

Re: The Official: 'Saw this movie, this is what I think' thread

300 is either a love it or hate it movie. There's no in between. I enjoyed it because I'm a fan of Frank Miller and respected the page to screen adaptation. It's been rare to see these kinds of media reflected faithfully to the screen and 300/Sin City did that. Though how it responds to an individual or audience is a different story.
