Yeah, same old same old. I could care less. Go Rangers!

Def Go Spurs. Did you hear Duncan? He said "We have four more games and we'll do it this time." Very confident. Not like he's bragging or anything. He just meant it honestly.

Have to say, even if I skip it, I hope Spurs geld them. Don't want Lebron to start equaling Jordan.

Spurs rocked the west! I want Mills and Diaw in Portland next season

"What is I won't watch a second of it, just like last year, Alec?"

I'd like to hear from Tim Donaghy how this match up came about?

The missing of the obvious goaltend against OKC begs to differ with you. I think NBA refs suck. Am I about to say that I believe it's rigged?

I don't use conjecture to form opinions.

SA can rally for one half without Parker, but his ankle has to be close to 100 % or the series goes to the Heat. Hopefully he will be good to go with almost 5 days rest.

The way Miami is playing defense right now and turning it on during the 4th, the Spurs are fighting an uphill battle.

It's not like Indiana really gave them a fight. It was never really close. Indiana just isn't a good team, and got exposed by a real contender.

True, Indy's offense was in the toilet by the end of the season; they made everyone's defense look good.

Heat are playing good defense but the spurs are a completely different team than the Thunder or Indiana. Both those teams run a lot of ISO plays. So the heat would take them apart because LBJ is such a good defender. Can stick LBJ on Parker. But the spurs still have 4 other guys on the court they can and will go to.
But LBJ is still the best player on the planet. I think the Spurs will win, but I won't be surprised in the least if LBJ puts his team on his back and carries them the rest of the way. This is LBJ not twiggie Durant.

The Spurs and Heat know each other so there will be no surprises on style of play. They're pretty much the same teams, great ball movement and help defense. Like you said though Miami has the best player on the planet... and IIRC that same player closed out this same team last season when he dropped 37 in game 7.

Also Wade looks healthy which he wasn't last season so that's another challenge San Antonio has to deal with.

If Parker is healthy: Spurs in 6 or 7
If Parker is 60% or less: Heat in 6

Spurs are the Heat's worst matchup and its not even close. Though they have Lebron, the Spurs have limited him in the past and will make him work on both ends. This Wade compared to last year's will be a struggle, but he played pretty damn well last year as well and the Spurs still nearly won it all. The loss of Miller and the regression of Chalmers/Cole will be huge. Bosh will truly be the X-factor; if he averages 25+ a game, the Spurs will be in trouble. Otherwise I see a series similar to OKC.

I never thought I'd live in a red state.

I'm actually pumped for this. Last year's finals were prolly the best I've ever seen in my ~15 years of following the NBA. Can't wait for round II.

Well you'll be missing out. If you want any more indication of how high level championship caliber basketball works and how far we're away from it, I'd recommend watching. We can also see what we're missing and maybe figure out how to address those deficiencies.

As a basketball fan, I'm glad these two teams made it. Easily the two best in the league.

OT: Heat vs. Spurs Thread

It is the Finals. Probably deserves it's own thread.

Both teams are making uncharacteristic turnovers. It feels like San Antonio has more in the first few minutes than they did in the first two games against Portland, at least in making stupid passes.

Re: OT: Heat vs. Spurs Thread

Duncan is making some plays early on. Don't think he will have the stamina to keep it up though

Re: OT: Heat vs. Spurs Thread

Leonard with 2 quick ones. That is going ot be big he is the best defender on LJ

Re: OT: Heat vs. Spurs Thread

Ginobili is on freaking fire. Imagine this Spurs team with Duncan/Parker/Ginobili of 5 years ago, and the supporting cast now.

They may have won 72 games instead of 62.

Ginobli is playing like he has something to prove. Last year he was horrible.
