No it didn’t…Actually viewership remained high last year even after Clark was injured.
Half of the entire league’s viewership stopped watching. Attendance dropped significantly but due to season ticket holders they were stuck with the tickets. They just didn’t go.Fever games dropped for sure. And overall. Despite that rating still up over previous year as was attendance. Product was good.
They already call more fouls for her than anybody else...Half of the entire league’s viewership stopped watching. Attendance dropped significantly but due to season ticket holders they were stuck with the tickets. They just didn’t go.
Even the news quit showing game scores.
She better not get hurt again this year. Maybe the refs will start making sure she isn’t targeted?
That is an ESPN link. The actual Neilson Ratings say otherwise but of course who really knows? I for one cannot remember much about a WNBA season anyway. Next year (If it actually happens) I will pay closer attention beings Portland will have a team. They already call more fouls for her than anybody else...
She hasn't been injured by any defender.
These false narratives are insane. Nobody is treating her unfairly. They are being physical with her because she dominates the ball.
I sincerely hope the refs don't start giving her special treatment.
Looks like viewership was up over 2024...

Not sure I agree with you there. There was quite a bit of coverage on the issue. These false narratives are insane. Nobody is treating her unfairly. They are being physical with her because she dominates the ball.

The 2025 WNBA season achieved record-breaking viewership, with ESPN networks delivering their most-watched WNBA regular season and postseason ever, averaging 1.3M viewers across 25 regular-season games (up 6% YoY) and 1.2M across 24 postseason games (up 5% YoY), per Nielsen Big Data + Panel. The Full Season across All National Networks was consumed for 220.12 million hours, making it the most-consumed Full Season ever (up 16% YOY).
There was a lot of whining. She brings a lot of negative attention on herself. Not sure I agree with you there. There was quite a bit of coverage on the issue.
This isn’t rue unfortunately.Actually viewership remained high last year even after Clark was injured.
Tickets for games were purchased PRIOR to CC’s injury.Fever games dropped for sure. And overall. Despite that rating still up over previous year as was attendance. Product was good.

Historical Valuation Growth
While specific "founding value" figures for 1997 are rarely cited due to the league's initial structure under the NBA, growth can be traced through major sales and expansion fees:
Top Current Valuations (2025/2026 Estimates)

This explosive growth is largely attributed to record-breaking attendance, surging media rights revenues (expected to hit $260 million annually starting in 2026), and the high-profile arrival of stars like Caitlin Clark.

I agree they should get enough to live their lives without having to play overseas a second season but remember their season is much shorter also. It's only been until recently that small to mid-sized city NBA franchises generated a profit. Paul Allen ran the Blazers in the red for the majority of the time.
S.P.A.M. Spending Paul Allen's Money.
The owners of WNBA franchises will be fine. They will enjoy a huge return on their investment when they sell their teams.
It's nice that so many of you are concerned about them, but trust me, they'll be fine.
Hell yes the players deserve a raise. No one goes to games to see the owners sit courtside. No one turns on the TV to see the owners sit courtside.
50% of WNBA players played overseas in the offseason last year.
We've gotten upset when players have played for their country in the offseason, and that's just a few games. It's not an entire 2nd season.
The ladies of the WNBA need to be paid enough so they don't have to go overseas to play.
Being a top WNBA player should earn life-changing money, because that's what it is in the vast majority of professional sports.
This obsession that the league isn't making money is a false argument.
PAY THE LADIES!
jealousy.Peoples feelings about CC don’t register with me. She is the sole reason for viewership and attendance being up. Her haters can deny it all they want but it’s true. They are on damn charter planes and have moved up in the quality of hotels simply because of her. The new tv contract is her as well.
I simply don’t understand why people hate on the sole reason people are spending money and tuning in. It feels like the same vibe the league and players had towards MJ when he first arrived. It’s ok to acknowledge it. They have had to move games to NBA arenas and not community college gyms for her…… NOBODY else.
All of this coincides with her arrival.
…..”No there are other players people watch and others have been crushing it for 30 years…….”
Sure.
what is false about the league not turning a profit since inception? It's only been until recently that small to mid-sized city NBA franchises generated a profit. Paul Allen ran the Blazers in the red for the majority of the time.

i honestly dont see what the actual 'win' here is for the WNBA PA, in having $1, being offered $4, but asking for $20.
You can’t explain simple economics to somebody who lives on an island of criminals. #BAMStrong comeback, respect.
But... being offered $4, but asking for $20 is Negotiations 101. They'll meet somewhere in the middle, neither will be completely happy. Life.

NZ is the place a lot of upset Americans wanna move to.
We have free health care for our people, great outdoors, good affordable tertiary education, and are miles away from drama.
Last thing NZ needs is American's bringing their left or right tribalisms here.
I'll still watch the NBA tho. Thats a decent trade off.
Bro have you SEEN the insects…..if he continues to stay there he’s a nutjob! That island of criminals has universal medical care for all, and college is much much more affordable.
But we have more billionaires.
