Epic meltdown by Beavs. But glad to see they came back to take Game 2. They could’ve given up after such a devastating loss. Good for them!

F Stanford!

Someone try to tell me "Baseball is boring" after a day like that?

only fans of the team are going to sit thru a 6 hour game, and a 9 and a half hour double-header; but that's only the running clock of the games. The double header lasted more than 12 hours

quite a pitching duel in that double-header though, only giving up 79 hits and 62 runs

beaver bats are definitely alive but I just read that over the last 10 games the beavs have given up 79 runs. Basically, 8 runs a game. What's up with their pitching staff?

speaking of the Beavers, I'm surprisd there is no focus on the Beaver softball team

and speaking of softball AND the overwhelming SEC bias there's this: The SEC had 12 teams named to the softball playoffs. Right now, the only one of the 12 teams left with a chance at the CWS is Florida

Plus, should ASU win at home today, 4 of the 8 teams in the Women's College World Series will be PAC-12 teams. The PAC-12 has traditionally dominated the sport, and yet somehow the SEC got 12 teams in.

Hopefully the baseball team gets to Omaha - 2006 also saw both OSU teams in their respective world series.

Not sure whose bright idea it was to host an end of May tournament in the desert, but these are not good conditions. The heat plus this incredibly hard infield have been a problem.

Beavs just playing tired and looks like they have no pitching left for this game.

Well pitchers couldn’t make it happen and the bats just didn’t have enough left after yesterday.
Stanford won their first game yesterday and it showed.
On the the regional.

Wow with the two series loss to end pac12 and loss in the tournament I didn't expect the #3 national seed. Nice the Beavs will be playing in Corvallis until the CWS in Omaha.

Should be a fun super regional, Vandy is tough. Ice those arms!

No slouches in Corvallis today.

  • #2 Vanderbilt (36-21) vs. #3 San Diego (36-18), 1 p.m., ESPNU
  • #1 Oregon St. (44-15) vs. #4 New Mexico St. (24-32), 7 p.m., ESPNU
Go Beavs!

...despite NMSU's paltry record, they are power hitting bombers so if this pitching staff doesn't pull their shit together then watch out for more high scoring upsets :dunno: I don't know much about SD, but Vandy is a storied program and always a tough out like you said. Go Beavs, march onto the Supers!!

Looks like San Diego is up on Vanderbilt late. 3-0. That would be a surprise.

Vanderbilt loses a close game to San Diego and Beavers squeak by New Mexico.
I don't think i have seen a game end on a walk since High School.

...yeah, not only that, NMSU coach decided let that poor pitcher fire off 8 straight balls without going to the mound and/or bullpen. Even their catcher was looking back at dugout shrugging holding palms out going wtf after ball 5&6. What's more is that this reliever had already pitched nearly 60 pitches. It was so odd, but a win is a win!!
