Surely they'd go back to being the Sonics, but I'd miss having a franchise named the Grizzlies, it's a good name for a team.
Maybe the Jazz could become the Utah Grizzles, and New Orleans could have the Jazz name back?
That's how it should be. It'd be quite confusing for a while though.
If I had it my way:
- Memphis Grizzles move back to Vancouver
- Los Angeles Clippers become the San Diego Clippers (they deserve 2 sports teams, Clippers will never be the pride of LA)
- Seattle gets their Supersonics back via expansion.
- St. Louis gets an expansion team (helps fill the regional void left by the departing Memphis Grizzlies, and they just lost their NFL team).
4 team divisions
9 teams make playoffs, 7 get BYES (division winners get automatic BYE), 8vs9 plug-in game.
