In the Spurs vs Jazz game the refs just called a timeout and offered to let the Spurs forfeit, pack their bags and head home. Pop gave it some serious thought and then reluctantly said, "We'll keep playing." When asked why he answered, "We'll keep playing."

Really? This actually happened?
There is a reason they play the games. The Jazz need to finish their season also.

the same can be said about the Blazers though.

Portland has to win, and imho, it's not a given they will. They lost to a Clippers team that ended the game by putting out the 8th grade boys team from a local middle school in Orlando, and barely beat the 76ers who were missing their 2 best players (1 for the entire game, the other for the last 41 minutes of the game).

Let's not forget that if Dame DIDN'T score 51 and 61, chances are they'd be already eliminated.

just tells u how bad blazers are

I need a blow out win for once. We need to come out aggressively and put our foot down, we can not have close razor thin games against bench players. Nets are challenging themselves and have nothing to play for except screwing us, but they can not, because we need to destroy them.

No, I'm sorry that should have been in green or something. It was supposed to be a post like an article from The Onion. After I posted it, I thought "that joke probably won't go over well"
I was thinking Pops would have told them to go screw themselves. I would not have liked being the one that had to ask him that question. I bunch of scenarios went through my head.

In making it up, I thought about a lot more rude answers but just went with something simple and tried to make it repetitive like Pop can be sometimes.

This year, Leclerc. Max, Lando and Albon have also been a delight to watch this year.
Leclerc, Max and Lando are great drivers. Max and Leclerc will be the future of f1. Albon sucks, he's got zero chance against Max

It would be so Spurs for them to win the lottery now. They haven't been in the lottery since they got Duncan.

I believe max is better than albon, but he certainly doesn't suck, his race craft us very good, he just needs to figure out qualifying

BUT.....Dame is on our team! 51, 61 and again tonight (56)

:)

I dissagree, Albons lack of pace is not only in the qualifing, but shows a lot more during the race. Maybe it's unfair to compare him to Max because Max is a sensational Talent, but in f1 your first Opponent is your teammate. I belive Red Bull will kick him out at the end of the year

The odds of that happening are astronomically low. The only thing less likely to happen would be the Suns winning 8 games in a row this season, or something like that.

Sure, but the league can’t do anything to the teams. Nothing. There are no rules or precedence. Other than a few years back the front office saying they didn’t like that Pop and others were doing it. They can warn all day long, but the coaches and teams will do what they want.

The league can not have so many fucking games and back to backs that it's good strategy to rest players.

I've been watching, our guys likely have to play this game like it's the most important game of the season because unless the Spurs, Suns and Grizz all lose their games this is a must win. Our guys have started off a few of the games in the bubble with a lack of a sense of urgency. If the game tonight is meaningful, I don't think a sense of urgency will be a problem, the only problem I can foresee is playing CJ when he is completely ineffective as he has been in the last two game but we overcame that against teams that are obviously better (forget about the Nets record, I've watching them too and they are one of the worst teams in the bubble) so I expect our guys to come out on top even if they play a shitty version of CJ for 40 minutes, which is also very likely.

None of your predictions have happened in the first half it seems?

Ironic that I only had us winning 3 games in the bubble but this was the game I was sure we'd win.

Won't be able to sleep after all of this stress. That board by melo at the end was the sweetest all year.

People said we had the tougher schedule. Pelicans were favored. Blazers 3.5 games behind with only 8 games to play. Go. Blazers.

FWIW - Helmut Marko just confirmed that since Red Bull had an aero problem since the start of the year, the cars have not been identical with new parts to solve the problem appearing on Max's car first - so it seems that Alex is driving with a lesser car with known problem - which should explain some of the difference in performance between himself and Max.
