I think that's a very real and very legitimate concern that the people who are upset with @HCP's teasing of new members have.

Well, these threads are far longer and destroyed by the number of posts bitching about stupid, whiny shit, so what did you expect to happen? There's a large group of members that can recognize those complaining about HCP are FAR more disruptive and destructive to the forum's environment than HCP alone.

Meh. The more they bitch the less I respect them. I don't expect much from people. But be reasonable, and if you're over-18, act like an adult.

I mean, by all means, have fun and be childish at times. But that's on the fun spectrum, not the temper-tantrum, emotional side of things. I guess I should lower my expectations for the folks 28-and-under who likely learned to socialize via technology and not in person. It's not their fault. They felt communicating through technology was normal. Kinda like back in the day people solved disagreements with their fists instead of guns.

I don't really post, just read mostly but HCP is one of the best things going on rc2. Nothing he says is mean spirited...just harmless joking and you can tell he has a great sense of humor. His basketball knowledge and insight is also right up there with anyone. Personally I think he's an asset to the forum and is funny as @%$!

I was always amused by HCPs rookie hazing shtick. He did it for years without incident. As far as I'm concerned, it was part of the fabric of the community. I was truly shocked when a couple of new posters got completely bent over it. I thought they'd figure it out and get over it when some of us tried to explain the ruse, but it seems like they never did. Maybe it wasn't an issue before because a lot of new posters in the past maybe tended to be lurkers who understood the routine, IDK.
