1. I've asked people to stay on topic.

2. I've edited posts.

3. I've deleted posts.

4. I have moved off topic posts in that thread into a new thread in the Off Topic section.​

I have no idea what I can do beyond that and more importantly what I should do. I'm not going to make new rules or ban anyone.

If you have constructive ideas on how to solve this problem please let me know.

Bitching about people is not a constructive idea.

So lets remind this to HCP who seems to keep bitching, which is what started this this time. I was logged off for a couple days, come back to find him still bitchign and argueing with Nate about me " so many bitches"

I had dropped things, moved on once again, only to find it still going on when I came back.

Now this is where I'm probably going to piss some of you off...

Yes, I wish @HCP wouldn't give new members a bad time. I have talked to him about it but let's be honest, it's at worst only teasing. He's not insulting them and more importantly it's more of a welcome then many of you give to new members.



Here's how I see it happening.

New member posts something.

HCP says yadda yadda yadda... Hey rookie... yadda yadda yadda.

Then a few people make multiple posts bitching about HCP and says he's chasing away new members.

Yet no one is replying to the new member or welcoming them.


Instead of worrying that HCP is chasing people away doesn't it make more sense to just take a moment or two and welcome them? A new member isn't going to care about 1 post calling them a rookie when there are 10 posts welcoming them here, IMO.

Not true at all. I have replied to everyone I have seen is a new person here and welcome them, and I know several others that have as well.

Here's a great idea.... Let's turn every thread into a "bitch about HCP thread".... That should make this thing a lot more fun.

For all the folks bitching about HCP and the other folks that haze them, two things:

1. You're bitching about how HCP is ruining the board for you. Please consider how you're constant bitching and crying is perpetuating all of this, and how you are ruining the board for the majority of the forum members. I am spending less and less time on here because I'm a grown-ass man and I don't feel like wading through the whining from other supposed "adults". I don't feel like babysitting. Clearly, Sly enjoys that his role has turned from moderator to babysitter, or he'd be gone by now. (And a BIG thank you, Sly, for dealing with this lame shit, as well as all the coordinating you do between the board and the Blazers' organization. If I hadn't met you in person, I'd consider you to be an angel.)

2. This is a basketball forum. People banter and talk shit as well as talk basketball. Sure some of the banter and joking is over-the-top and unnecessary at times.... BUT.... It's an online forum. If you can't stand the heat, get outta the kitchen (I find it disappointing some of you feel so much heat to begin with.).

There is an option to "mark all as read" somewhere. It's a nice feature to use when seeing threads you dont want to see are bold.

Wish there was an "ignore thread" option or don't get updates from thread.

To be honest when we have caught up, so in so will introduce themselves and then say their name on here and I just smile thinking of all the interactions we've had on here and how strange it is. It's one thing to chat back in forth, but to put a face on it is just a weird feeling. This is the only chat room or forum or whatever this is that I visit, so I have no real experience with "cyber friends" or whatever we would be. I had a contest on here a few years ago for a free lunch get together at my brothers restaurant and we had a genuine blast. Very cool to get to know a few of you NER....... code writers in person.
Wish there wasn't so much hate on me, but The HCP will overcome it. I'm like Dame that way. We use the hate as fuel FAMS!
