Serie A (Italy) clubs voted to finish the season. They will resume group training in about two weeks, with plans to resume the season sometime in June.

Seems like June is the target for most major sport leagues.

Btw I wouldn’t put any money on it, but my gut tells me the nba won’t have to go bubble city and will ultimately just resume the season as is. The only real change would involve fans, or lack of, but a month is a long time, so I could see that changing as well.

How can golf come back? A golfer can't socially distance from his/her caddy. That's a sacred bond.

By the way, I don't play or watch golf, so I'm including a caveat that my above statements might be completely wrong. Probably not, though, because I'm pretty good at understanding everything with one quick glance.

Easy solution. Just make all clubs 6' long and they can easily be handed to the golfer by the caddy and they can communicate with 2 way radios. Caddies will disinfect each club and ball before giving it to his golfer. That is until the Russian golfers hack their trasnsmission and learn all their strategies. :bgrin:

A lot. Can you imagine Dame's buzzer beaters with no one there? Or battling for Home Court Advantage only to not have one. Fans add intensity and emotion to sports, momentum too.
I can respect that. But as somebody who grew up playing street ball at the parks....... we just played. Screw who was watching. Of course more noise makes it that much more exciting, but I would never NOT watch something just because the seats were empty.

Playing on the streets is much different than watching professionals though. I just don't believe sports will be anywhere close to the same or have the same highs and lows that make cheering for your favorite franchises the same without fans. Can you imagine a Blazer team in a game 6 or 7 of a playoff series at the Rose Garden (sorry moda), with no home-court advantage at all?

Yes but him hitting the buzzer beater to win the chsmpuonship with no fans is ok by me. Also- they’ll find ways to involve fans, maybe even piping in our noise from home. Plus you have the excitement of our players cheering for each other. I bet you’ll watch.

They’ll have a parade when things open up.
:dunno:
I'm not stopping anyone else from watching, and yeah I'd be happy if they won a championship. I just won't be watching until fans are back, even if it's like 25% that's better than an empty arena.

Some of the NBA games televised have hardly ant fans in the aren's, Atlanta, the Wiz.
If they game is piped into the living rooms the ratings would be extremely high.
