I think @ABM was irritated with me over past debates/discussions and felt that I had created that thread to make him look bad. That was not my intention but he didn't like me creating that thread so I had no problem creating it myself.

I thought his post was informative and helpful so that's why I used it. I have no problem and neither should anyone else if he didn't like or want that.

Well, not exactly.

I made this post in the DNC thread and determined at that time the RNC thread wasn't gonna be started by me. Hence, when I saw it and saw it was indeed started by me (OK, Sly), I was, like, huhh?? It was more about me being true to my intentions of not starting an RNC thread,

'Lifelong Democrat' calls in to C-SPAN after watching RNC speeches — says he is now voting Republican

A caller who identified himself as a "lifelong Democrat" called in to C-SPAN on Monday after watching the first slate of speeches at the Republican National Convention and announced that he will be voting Republican this year.

"I'm a lifelong Democrat, I'm from Lorain, Ohio, which is a Democrat city in Ohio. And I just want to say after watching the convention tonight on TV, on C-SPAN here, I am definitely changing my vote to Republican," said the caller, who identified himself as Rick.

"I tell you what, they just put the Democratic Party to shame. I'm going to follow the Republican Party now," he continued.

When asked to explain what convinced him to change his mind, Rick explained the "heartfelt" message of the Republican speakers resonated with him deeply — especially their religious emphasis.

"It was the heartfelt way they came across to the American people, and I was really touched by the number of times they used the word 'God.' They put God into everything," Rick explained. "The people on the Democratic side, at their convention, act like they were pushing God right out of it — and that had a lot to do with changing my mind."

Hope he got union scale for that commercial....times are tough for paid actors these days....on the other hand, George W Bush and all the living past presidents are voting Biden as well as 73 former republican National Security officials and diplomats....then the GOP started a go fund me Lincoln Party as well....even Dick Cheney is voting Biden....yeah...the guy you found in Ohio is hardly a game changer...he's probably a paid infomercial but you did make a commendable attempt at a maris61 post...I'll give you that

All sounds like swamp material to me. BTW, I love the tag they gave Biden at the convention: Loch Ness Monster. Only raises his head out of the water every so often, then goes back under. Not known for doing anything remarkable. Much more hype than substance. 47 years, baby!

Biden is just the substitute teacher this time around...he's there to prep a strong cabinet and not make it about himself...which is exactly what I want from govt....shut up and work ...Joe is good at discipline and organization...he knows the world and history better than anyone in the White House at all....and he listens....damage control...you are propping up a compulsive liar, which removes any credibility about character judgement in my view. Melania so far has been the only speaker with a pulse in your convention...and I'm shocked to see that. She was prepared and actually heartfelt
 
With the hurricane and now the NBA boycott the RNC is getting pushed off the frontpage of the news. I can see Trump's vanity fest getting postponed until next week.

There's room for both of those nicknames to have merit.
 
The woman who spoke last night not only believes her adopted biracial don is more likely to be a criminal than her white sons (like Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Dylan Roof, Timothy McVeigh), she also opposes women's suffrage. Instead of one person one vote, she calls for one household one vote and in "godly" households the husband casts the vote. I don't know if households with no husband get a vote, or what households with two husbands do, but then, they aren't godly. No word on whether she plans to vote for Trump or just let her husband do so.

Where do they find these people?
