My conclusion is that being human means we have biases.

Sadly that is the direction I saw this conversation heading. It is too simple of a blanket argument to use on the whole of humanity this way. If we are all biased, we are all full of crap. So nobody should listen to anyone else, ever. This would even include the people that helped us form our very own opinions in the first place...

(Alright. I have had my fun for the day. It seems we are at a point where we agree to disagree anyways. :icecream:)

It doesn't mean everyone is full of crap, it means that no one is an objective paragon of truth. I didn't think that was a controversial idea. We all have to deal with our personal biases and do our best to be reasonable and logical in spite of them. Perfection isn't an achievable goal, and that goes for objectivity too--we can never be perfectly objective.

It seems to me that this is just a repackaged, fancy way of saying, we are all full of crap.

No, it means none of us are infallible and perfect. There's a wide gulf (IMO) between not being perfect and being full of crap.

But, of course, it all depends on how you define "full of crap." If you define it as "lacking perfection," then we are all, indeed, full of crap. The human condition.

None of us are infallible and perfect. This has nothing to do with a person's bias.

(I am done with this bias stuff now)

We can agree to disagree then. I think complete lack of bias would require a perfectly objective mind, and perfection is unattainable (as we both agree).

You seem to be trying to tell me what we both agree on, so obviously we can't.

You said we both agreed on that. Right here:

We agree on this. I'm not telling you what you agree on, I'm saying I agree with you. On that quoted part.

That was me posting a quote of your post, then posting my reply afterwards.

RIGHT? lol.

Also, the dude looks like Kevin Spacey when he's in a suit.

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.
Impossible, Kevin Spacey has a brain.

That rich white couple invited to speak after being indicted for waving guns at Black Lives Matter protesters? Already renowned for destroying beehives made by children at neighboring synagogue to provide honey for Rosh Hashanah. Also sued to prevent gay couple from moving into neighborhood. True Trumpers.

Ah yes, the little white twerp who went to anti women's rights rally in Trump hat, because teen boys know so much more about women's health than any woman possibly could, mocked a Native elder and became a hero on the right.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Anyone else notice how ABM gave this thread a neutral title while calling DNC convention no one watched? Day one of DNC had much higher ratings. Guess people like Michelle Obama more than Kimberly Guilfoyle. Can't say I blame them.

Again, you have no idea what you're talking about. Ask @SlyPokerDog if you need some clarification.

That's abut the time hippies said screw it and created a sex drugs, and rock 'n roll movement. There's plenty there to help dismiss personal biases.

Well, I know ABM doesn't consider any woman knows what she is talking about so I am not offended. It's impossible for any Trumper to offend me since they live in alternate universe where Corona virus magically disappears and Putin is trustworthy.

ABM posted the RNC schedule in a different thread. We needed an RNC thread so I moved his post to it's own thread because starting it with a schedule seemed like a good idea. I told ABM what I did and he didn't want to be associated with starting the thread so I closed that one and made this. Both RNC threads I started.
