The Salary Cap should be at least $72 million

If the Canadian dollar was at 88 cents the salary cap would be $73 million. At 82 cents the cap will be $72.2 million and at 80 cents it would be $71.7 million. (Amalie Benjamin)

In December the NHL projected a salary cap of around $73 million for 2015-16.

The Rangers should have around $19.6 million in cap space based upon a cap of $72 million.

72 or more would be nice. An extra 3 mill is huge for us. Step will get his raise. Staal got his. Zucc gets 1 mill. And MSL comes down 2 mill.

Hags really could be the odd man out next season. Either him or Zucc. I don't think both are back. And no shot MSL, Zucc, AND Hags are all back. I think at least one is gone.

If the cap increases 3 million. I think Zucc, Hagelin and MSL all return. Hayes had a 2.8 million extra cap hit with his bonus. That pays for Hagelin. He won't get more than 3 million. Glass will be dealt and Stempniak won' t brought back. That pays for Stepan's raise. I think they give MSL a 3 year, 9 million deal to finish his career here. He takes it. That makes Zucc affordable if he is reasonable.

If we can move Glass, maybe, but I wouldn't count on someone taking him. I know you put him into every single deal you propose dump, but he is a negative to every trade. He won't be easy to move.

I still think 1 of those 3 will be gone unless they are all very team friendly.

Glass is quite easy to move. He's a good clubhouse guy. His salary is not much. Most teams actually use 4th line players more useless than him. Just look at Toronto, NJ and Arizona.

I totally think you can move him with only a 1.45 mill cap hit, but where we disagree is he won't be a plus is the deal we move him in. If we add him in the other team would want something extra. No one (in my humble opinion) is calling asking about Glass. Some may say yeah I'll take him to eat the money for you, but then you throw an extra pick in. That's how I see it going down.

As long as they're fair with St. Louis I think he will stay. He likes it here, it's a good team and at age 40 I don't think he would want to head to another team.
