On July 1, Lawrence Frank, Nets’ head coach and close personal friend of Shareef Abdur-Rahim, flies to Atlanta and at the stroke of midnight, knocks on the front door of the the Olympic gold medalist and All-Star, carrying an offer from the Nets. This was the Nets’ plan all along: use the remaining $5 million TE from the Kerry Kittles deal with the Clippers to secure a high-scoring big man. Oh what genius.

I think letting SAR slip through our fingers was still a mistake.

Yes his production was down, but the Kings also acquired another PF in Kenny Thomas during his tenure. Can't move Thomas without show casing him as he had the bigger/uglier deal. Still does as SAR comes off the book the following year (pre-2010).

Yes SAR would had taken up salary, but it's not like the Nets other MLE deals, or even Mark Jackson and Boki put them at the 'next level'.

The SAR fiasco is the only reason I'm here today. Without him, I never would have signed up on bbb 3 summers ago. I owe pretty much everything to that man. He essentially introduced me to the internetz.

Do you know how many jealous Nets fans there will be to read that? Wow...
