Event The Snyder Cut! Are you in?

I consider myself,... not a superhero buff, but huge fan. I own all the movies and still have many many comics(need to assess value of some of them. I think I have #3 Spiderman, #1-#10 Dial H for Hero, ETC.

However. I dont know who Snyder is. IS this to be a series on HBO with all the actors from the movie? Is this an HBO movie release?

It's the original movie. Zach Snyder was the original director he filmed Justice League, but left before he could finish it because of some family stuff. WB then hired, marvel director Joss Whedon to finish it. Whedon redid most of it, fucking it up terribly. All of the stars wanted the original. So do the fans.

HBO is paying Zach Snyder to finish the original film and they will release on HBO

And it is going to be almost four hours long...glorious

OKAY! Bring it ON! :)

The only thing I'd say is he was forced out and used the death of his daughter as an excuse to tell him to go be with his family. He actually came back to finish the project and they denied him because of the reception that BvS received - the WB fools cut out 30 mins so they can make more money by showing it one more time a day. SMH..

I'm hearing that Cavill will be back for a sequel to Man of Steel. I'm hearing AT&T is already goading Ben Affleck into doing a series or movie as Batman for HBO Max. If all goes well with the Snyder Cut, I expect Snyder to be back and potentially continuing his universe without WB intervention.

I hope so. He is one of the main members and founder of the Justice League. It made no sense excluding him, especially after showing the Lantern that battled Steppenwolf back in the day. Also the took out Martin fucking Manhunter? They totally fucked it up.

Steppenwolf needs to be taken out early on after he assumes there are no protectors. Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Cyborg should be enough to take him out.

It would have made since for Bruce to find Green Lantern too while Supes is still dead, though having Martian Man Hunter join in to beat Steppenwolf's ass and introducing The Green Lantern later on after Supes is brought back to life (Which Darkseid should do after he arrives to take care of shit himself post Steppenwolf ass kicking)

Then we get the Lois dying, Evil Supes, Darksied is about to win, followed by Flash and Cyborg coming up with the idea to travel back in time to warn Bruce, save Lois, (Some bad ass Alfred Moments somewhere in there), then Supes is resurrected and a good guy this time, and the good guys somehow beat Darkseid after the best fucking battle we have ever seen.

I don't THINK Martian Manhunter is in on the end fight. I think it's more of a tease of who he really is in the film. From what I hear, Wonder Woman decapitates Steppenwolf and his head rolls through a boom tube where Darkseid is, they watch as he crushes Steppenwolf's head with his foot, stomping on it.

I THINK before the reception of BvS - Justice League originally had Lois Lane being murdered by Darkseid but I think that got changed and pushed back to the second film. So, I don't expect Zack to shoot that unless he goes in and shoots scenes THE WAY HE WANTED. He had to change a lot during production because of the BvS reception.

There are MORE nightmare sequences - MOST GLORIOUS. I even hear that one nightmare sequence has Batman teamed up with Leto's Joker and Deathstroke - since everyone is all in on defeating Supes and Darkseid in the nightmare future.

@AmirIcon are you really going to make me google what Snyder Cut is?

Okay, brief rundown...

Zack Snyder was to guide and watch over the DC Extended Universe. His first film was Man of Steel and his second was Batman v. Superman. Because of the reception of BvS - some saying it was too dark - made him change the script to Justice League during production and under horrible circumstances, his daughter committed suicide. Warner Bros. used his daughter's death as an excuse to kick him off the project and bring in Joss Whedon, a Marvel guy. They reshot 90% of Justice League and made it lighter and jokier. Snyder's original cut was 3 hours and 30 minutes. Warner Bros mandate to Whedon was to get it to under 2 hours, which they did. They also made it lighter.

Here we are, 3 years later, the original Snyder Cut will be released. If you're a fan of the edgy and gritty filmmaking that was Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman then I'm sure you will enjoy this. If you found those to be too dark or adult themed, I'm guessing you won't.

Ahhhhh, now you're making sense. Well that is VERY cool. How is he able to release it though? Is it some bootleg release that got put out?

JL lost me on that first scene with Batman and the Parademons. Just seemed really poorly written.

I think HBO is giving him the ability to finish his movie they way he wanted, including refilling scenes/filming new scenes. They reportedly gave him at least $30 million to finish it, though the head of HBO says it will cost far more. It is going to be nearly 4 hours long.

Joker and Deathstroke too? That seems a little much, but the more the merrier.

I also heard Steppenwolf wasn't even in Snyder's cut

Warner Media (A conglomerate of HBO, Turner, and Warner Bros) is allowing him to finish his version because of all the outcry and demand. Also, more money to be made and the possibility of salvaging the DC Universe. They are releasing it next year on HBO MAX, their streaming service.

I'm not really buying Joker and Deathstroke together teamed up with the Bat in THIS film. I think it was a plan in future JL movies.

Steppenwolf is definitely in but he has his design from BvS. He won't look like he did in Justice League thank God.

They teased the Injustice League. Would have been a great arch after Darkseid....actually before Darkseid. They blew their load too quick

Agreed. Snyder wanted to do a true sequel to Man of Steel before they made him stuff Batman in it. I'm still thankful for what we got. Batman v. Superman (Ultimate Edition) is an incredible art house film.

I still want a true Man of Steel sequel. Cavill said he isn't done, so we may see it. I would like to see Brainiac or Metallo.

Where are you hearing that, if I may ask? Or at least, how confident are you in what you're hearing?

He was the only one from the cast who didn't support the Snyder Cut on social media due to negotiations for the next Superman movie. Along the months, The Rock has asked for his return and an article came out saying they wanted to do another Superman movie and aren't messing with Supergirl anymore. Him showing up on the reveal of the Snyder Cut makes me think that WB gave him the go ahead and the promise of another Superman film. I'm 100% confident with this.

I think AT&T is starting to call the shots. I have a good feeling Affleck will be back as well -- though he might not make it to the silver screen. HBO Max for him. Theatrical for Cavill. These are my predictions.

Cavill has stated himself he is not done and that he hasn't given up the role. He wasn't happy with where Justice League went with Superman. Now that JL is being done right, he will come back. I think WB gave him the go to head too. They fucked up their DC universe and now they are working to un fuck it up.

First look at Darkseid in Synders cut!

So should I watch the other version first, before watching the Snyder Cut?

No

Not unless you want to waste 2 hours of your life.

Well, if you want to see the difference between Snyder's vision and the atrocity that Whedon put out, that would be the only reason.

I kinda do. That way I’ll know what’s so special about the new one right?
