This thread is so old that we are recycling jokes now.

Melo has got to looking at the young team Portland has put together.... whereas Houston.

"Were getting the band back together!" vibe.
Honestly? I doubt it.

Portland had a "regression" year and barely made the playoffs. Houston added a generational talent at PG, to roster that has a near MVP calber guard in Harden and just went to the WCF.

Not to suggest that Diamian, CJ, and Nurkic are chopped liver, but if we're gonna be real Houston is probably a more attractive landing spot, especially when you factor in market, weather, and state income taxes.

EDIT:
Second Round, not WCF . . . don't post drunk on the train boys and girls.

Watch Melo finally agrees and the trade is executed...then Adam Silver Vetoes it with some excuse about parity in the NBA.

He let a 4-time scoring champ and former MVP join a 73-win team and told the rest of the league to go fuck themselves.

Something tells me parity is not high on his agenda.

You know. Everything you say makes a good argument.... but I am still going to go with my gut on blind faith. Like Tom Petty says, even the losers have to win sometimes.

.

Um, Houston lost to the Spurs in the 2nd round, including a 39 point ASS whipping in game 6...at home...against the Spurs without their best player (Leonard) and Tony Parker.

Those are not rumors, they stated it.
Anyone actually watch the video with Dame and CJ's comments about Melo? The tweets are so out of context it's ridiculous.

Dame said, "with him coming here a real possibility, I had to reach out." He never spoke to him, only texted, and never gave any indication that Melo was actually receptive to the idea of coming here. The "real possibility" comment wasn't based on anything Melo said, but was given as Dame's reason for reaching out in the first place. The only reason it's a "real possibility" is because of the report that Olshey is pursuing him, not because he has any interest in being a Blazer.

As for CJ, he never called or even texted. He said he reached out to Melo through a third party (their mutual trainer), and also never indicated that he received any response from Melo. When he was asked about Melo's response, that was when he said, "I think he's interested," meaning he hasn't heard anything and he's just guessing.

Not that many of us were really thinking he's coming here anyway, but I just get annoyed by the disingenuous click-bait that passes for reporting these days.

Sure, they added CP3, who has had even less post season success than Harden, but they gutted their roster to do it. They gutted their roster so much just to get Chris Paul they have nothing left to give NY for Melo. That's the entire reason this thread is more that 5 pages long.

You don't think Lillard, McCollum, Crabbe and Anthony guarding the 1-4 is going to make Nurk vulnerable to foul trouble? That's four weak defenders and one goalie.

BNM

Dame, CJ, Crabbe and Melo's defense would be better because Nurk is behind them.
