Okay, but I think "being attractive to free agents" and "being attractive to traded veterans who could leave" have the same root causes. So what I said about drawing free agents I'd say is still true for being a team that can retain traded-for stars.
If you go back and read what I said here, we're both saying the same thing. In order to be more attractive, the Blazers stars have to gain more acclaim by becoming All-Stars, the role players have to improve, and the team has to achieve more success, especially in the playoffs. Even doing all of that, the Blazers may have to take a risk on the player they get via trade being a one-year rental. Olshey has shown that he's willing to do that by tossing the Blazers' hat into the discussions regarding guys like George and Carmelo.
Now, if you want to keep disagreeing with our general agreement, please do so.
