Okay, but I think "being attractive to free agents" and "being attractive to traded veterans who could leave" have the same root causes. So what I said about drawing free agents I'd say is still true for being a team that can retain traded-for stars.

If you go back and read what I said here, we're both saying the same thing. In order to be more attractive, the Blazers stars have to gain more acclaim by becoming All-Stars, the role players have to improve, and the team has to achieve more success, especially in the playoffs. Even doing all of that, the Blazers may have to take a risk on the player they get via trade being a one-year rental. Olshey has shown that he's willing to do that by tossing the Blazers' hat into the discussions regarding guys like George and Carmelo.

Now, if you want to keep disagreeing with our general agreement, please do so. ;)

This is impressive, but it makes me nervous of injury.
Wes Mathews loved boxing offseason to get in shape...great for footwork and cardio...boxing seems to be finally getting popular again...when I was a kid it was boxing and baseball...everyone knew the contenders by name...now I couldn't name many

But the real one?? Imma just lay this right here:

Fuck to the yes on this one.

If Melo goes to OKC I am ok with that due to they might have to give at 3 decent players to trade back to NY. Then next have George and Melo walk on them for FA.

At this point I would be happy if we could somehow pry Love away from Cleveland.

I've probably beaten this to a pulp by now but imo that should have been the goal from the jump. Let teams like the Nugz, Celtics, and Suns duke it out for Kyrie and slide in to facilitate a Melo to Cleveland deal that lands us Love.

That's the best option right now. Especially if CLE gets a PF in return for Kyrie (such as Jabari Parker). If they did, they'd likely look for a SF and play Lebron as a big SG. That would be the scenario where they'd trade Love for Melo.

man I feel sorry for D-Rose, unbelievable what happened to him

2 mil for rose? I know he's struggled with injuries and isn't the same player he was, but he's still good enough to get paid more than that shit.

he could be out of the league by 30
thats shit, 28 yo and gets 1 year contract worth 2 mln

life can be cruel and thats what happened to him

Don't feel sorry for millionaires who play a game for a living.
well I dont feel sorry for him in that way, he wont be homeless for sure, but as a player who won the MVP award, 3x All-Star, D-Rose as an amazing player he was prior to injuries, thats what I feel sorry about

when you see his accomplishments and what player he could become if healthy, its just sad...

It's extremely frustrating to me that everyone seems to want to move here....... except NBA players.
it's different, most people wanna move here to be a super cool and trendy and quote Portlandia and try to be a stereotypical hipster

I think they would sign short term deals with OKC. I love the fact that OKC is taking such a risk.

all I can say is this has been one helluva fun and interesting offseason! AND there appear a lot for fireworks left with Kyrie and Melo likely to be moved

Grand Finale!

Your computer is forgetting that Paul George said he was going to LA anyway.

Your computer needs to update. Restart.

We'll just see won't we. Ball, George, LeBron, Randal , Lopez would be a solid lineup for the Lakers I guess.

Yea I try and see a situation in which a roster with Rose instead of Kyrie at the point gives you a better chance at beating GSW and it's with added length and size at the other positions. Rose,LeBron,Melo, a player like Parker, and TT could be seen as such.

Just adding Rose + Jeff Green and resigning players like Korver is not enough. There has to be more roster moves made in Cleveland. Love is candidate numero uno.
