So, what do you want Neil to do with that $12.9 trade exception? Would you prefer he just let it expire, or should he use it on a player/players that could make the team better? If so, who?

BNM
Personally, I'm hoping NY ships Courtney Lee to us in the Melo deal, and uses the offloading of that contract to justify accepting Anderson from Houston.

Can they also please include Kyle O'Quinn?

BNM
One can only hope, right? But honestly, with Nurkic, Davis, Vonleh, Collins, and Swanigan (not to mention our favorite whipping boy), do we really have space for O'Quinn?

People hate Crawford because he was put in a position that was never going to work out.

McMillan tried to make him into Brandon Roy 2.0 and that's not who he is.
People like to bitch around here.

It's funny because it's usually the same groups arguing against each other.

People stuck up for Mo and Crawford because they were good bench players, and in Mo's case, for a bit our only useful bench player, and they would bitch constantly.

They both were what they were, useful bench guys.

'Sauces' close to the pup think that this finally goes down fairly shortly. It looks like just a small sticking point from HOU and 'Melo finally gets moved.

Are we involved?

Any confirmation on the pieces?

Any confirmation on the pieces?

He would not comment on the pieces although he believes Portland is involved. Just said the pieces were 'interesting'. He was quite reluctant to share more than that.....I tried. Said HOU is trying like crazy for one thing that is holding this up but basically everything else was pretty much agreed to.

He did say HOU could possibly work this out w/o POR but that they wouldn't budge so far in some of NYK demands which is why he thinks POR could get in there.

Personally, I'd rather have O'Quinn than Vonleh or Davis. If either or both of them could be flipped for much of anything, that would alleviate the logjam, assuming O'Quinn could be made part of whatever deal occurs.

How does one know that the pieces are "interesting", but the sauce isn't sure if Portland is part of the recipe?

I'd be fine moving Ed to make room for KOQ. I think O'Quinn is a better fit as both a Nurk back up and playing beside him.

What if Dame and CJ pushing for Melo was just smoke and mirrors orchestrated by Neil. Brilliant!

It's just part of Neil's masterplan to get Lebron to Portland

$12.9 ? If I was Neil I would buy a nice pizza with it... I'm kinda hungry

Probably means the pieces from Houston or New York are interesting. Maybe NYK wants to offload Noah?

Because he said HOU could still pull this off w/o POR. If they don't relent, then the pieces would be 'interesting'. Believe me, I tried to pin him down on more details and he wouldn't budge.

Also understand, this is someone that is not from around here. Their perspective may be a little different than ours.

Davis is short term and easily trade

That part is a bit curious as the principals from HOU and NYK seem set, unless Capela somehow was added.

Roger - was just asking the question.

Well I personally don't like Gordon nor Anderson. I think they're both quality role players. I just would prefer other options on the Blazers mainly due to fit or age.

Before you bring out a ton of stats and whatnot. I'm well aware of the negatives these players have. As well as off-the-court issues one of them has.
I just believe these players to be a better target than Gordon, or Anderson if Portland is giving up Harkless.

If I had to make a choice of a role player, I'd have liked Tobias Harris. Although with Morris being traded not sure how available he is.
Chicago is a fairly cheap organization, and although I'm hesitant due to the history of players like Mirotic in Chicago... I think he'd be a good fit as a stretch 4 and sometimes 3.
Another player is Markeef Morris, the Wiz may be willing to trade him. They traded for Bogdanovic who is a 3/stretch 4 himself.
As far guards go, I'd go with Tony Allen or something like that. Someone who if Portland were to trade Harkless before the deadline can fill in for much of what he does.
Not splash moves and people can criticize them all they want. I just think these players are better value than Gordon or Anderson if Portland has to give up Harkless.

I loved Mo, was one of the few on this board who did. He was a big part as why Portland beat the Rockettes 4-2.

If they could do it without portland I'd have to imagine it's Gordon and arizas expiring involved and not Anderson.

What does your Brooklyn source say about the Crabbe deal?

I loved Mo too. It's just funny to me the people that didn't are the ones that call others negative nancys when they bitched about Mo incessantly.
