Does anybody else think the Cavs are trying to trade Kyrie first so they have the money to then pay Melo when they trade for him?

What is Cleveland going to give New York? Kyrie is too much obviously, what other pieces do they have? Knicks have no need for Love.

If they were willing to trade Love for Anthony, they could perhaps put together a three-way deal, like they had lined up for Paul George.

At some point he's going to realize that Houston isn't going to happen.

But he might just say "fuck it" and stay in NY for one more year to be with his kid.

And he supposedly loves the city. I think that's his plan B if Houston doesn't happen.

Is he stupid or stubborn if he stays?

Well, I imagine he's looking at it like this:

He can either be traded to play with his friends in Houston and maybe contend

or

He can stay in NY with his kid and be a free agent next summer.

I don't think he's stupid. It really depends on his priorities. If he wants to win, he needs to open up his NTC to other teams. If he kinda wants to win, he can wait until next summer. I just don't know if the Houston trade is gonna happen. They have nothing to offer.
