These takes are on fire in here. I really like what Mo brings to our team, but there's a reason the warriors don't roll out Mo Harkless clones out on the wing. More three point shooting is the name of the game. If he can reliably get teams to respect his shot and drag people out beyond the three point line he'd make the offense that much better. Ryan Anderson, despite his poor defense, demands that respect from the teams he plays against.

Look at his numbers post Nurk.

Nobody game plans Anderson either. The plan for all 3-point shooters is the same: don't leave your man. That's not a game plan, that's just basic defense.

Yeah, if any game planning is being done on Anderson's account, then it's a game plan to exploit his crappy defense and give the ball to whoever he's "guarding".

I know, they're pretty good. I don't want to trade Harkless. The blazers are facilitating the trade, I'd say Turner and Meyers or pound sand. I also think Anderson would fit in pretty well though.

This. Well said.

Some highlights, if anyone is interested....or if your memory is bad....

I get it: highlights can make even Butters look like an All Star. But that's elite slashing and footwork right there. Great vision around the rim too.

do you not see the gameplan within that? Do you not see the difference in spacing? Teams wouldnt dare Anderson to beat them the way they do with Aminu and Harkless. The warriors let Harkless take every open shot in the playoffs. They dared him to make it. Anderson must be accounted for every possession, thus opening up everything else for guys like Dame, CJ, and even Nurk on a pick and roll. The defender on Ryno will have to make a decision; leave Anderson wide open or allow the train that is Nurkic an easy road to the hoop. Yeah, both sound fun.

Sounds like Harkless and Leonard for Anderson+whatever Neil can negotiate out of Houston.

Ariza will not be in this deal. He is very good friends with CP3 and played a good role in getting him to come to HOU.
Yes. No chance. And not just because he is friends with Paul. I believe he is a more valuable player than Anthony so why would they trade him plus other assets for Anthony.

imagine we get rid of Turner in this trade, and then BKN trades for Crabbe
what a summer that would be indeed

Depends on the return.

Who would be our backup SG? SF? Do you want 2 SF's who can't shoot, dribble, or create (Harkless & Aminu?)

It's highly unlikely we trade Turner and Crabbe, IMO.

I'd like to give Davis one more year while healthy to show us what he's got. I think he does alright in the small rotation.

And if we're going to trade away Aminu, as I have said before: we need someone else to pick up the defense. And we have nobody who will do that, nor does this trade give us anyone who plays better defense than him.
I don't see much chance in Portland resigning him, they'll be giving Nurk a huge payday, and won't be able to afford Davis.

We get the offensive advantage of Anderson. It's just the other end where we would get hammered.

Honestly, if I'm Stotts I tell Mo "if you pass up an open three then I'm pulling you. Shoot 4+ per game. "

I actually don't hate the idea of having Anderson. I just hate the idea of trading Moe for him.

Agreed. A Crabbe for Anderson swap makes so much more sense. Same skill set, same terrible contract.

Maybe Neil has a plan to move Crabbe to BRK, because having both Anderson and Crabbe on the same roster makes no sense.

BNM

And now woj tweets about Houston gathering assets. This shit might just happen.

Look at Anderson's career numbers in the postseason. Totally pathetic. We're better off straight dumping Leonard or Turner than we are taking back another overpaid, one dimensional guy who doesn't defend and gets in the way of our rookies developing.

Numbers don't lie.

We should refer to him as An_erson...

Show me the numbers then. Anderson is an elite shooter. Harkless will never be elite at anything. There's a reason teams dare him to shoot. There's a reason Harkless is making half of what Anderson is.

His numbers are pretty depressing.

13.6 ppg (okay that's not awful)
4.6 rebounds (that's not.... great)
0.9 assists (that's pretty fucking bad)
41.8% from the field (again..... bad)
40.3% from three (that's pretty much the only reason anyone would want him)

Career 17.2 PER, 16.7/5.6 per 36

Teams win with defense, but Neil just keeps looking to add offensive guys who can't guard a fucking door
