I am from the Houston area, not Sugarland. and the Academy store colors are blue. His academy was black and grey. Was wondering if it was from Oak Hill. I think the red and yellow he has been wearing is Oak Hills colors too.

I do have a question though.

Portland is a "Sleeper" to get melo if he expands his NTC, which might happen. Harkless seems like a good swap for them NYK, but what would be included to make the salaries match? from what I was reading it would be Nurkic (I assume is a no deal) or Collins (figure you would like to keep too).

Who knows who it will be, but I do know who it won't be. CJ, Damian and Nurk.

There are various ways it could work. Portland could include some expiring deals like Ed Davis and a young player with two years left for New York to evaluate, like Noah Vonleh. Vonleh is not some great prospect, but he played well alongside Nurkic and might do well alongside Porzingis (though one of them would need to play center, which may be a no-go). Portland has some reasonable contracts that they could put together to add up to Melo's.

Many options, to keep it simple, for example:

Harkless, Vonleh, Ed Davis and Nicholson

NYK immediately cuts / stretches Nicholson and end up with 2 young prospects and an expiring - not a bad haul.

I thought I read on this board that Nicholson couldn't be included in a package ? I don't really know much about how trades work tbh
 
fair enough.

I think the main reason Melo wants to come to Houston is CP3, decent team is a nice bonus, and our front office is more stable than Cavs. Will see what happens with it after the team is sold. Hope we can keep it together.

Reported the reason why Portland hasn't used the stretch provision on Nicholson's contract yet is because they're keeping the salary due to possibly needing the salary to include in a trade.

I'm not giving up a #10 for pick Melo. He would be fun to have for a few years. We would see how we stack up with the elite, and get a taste of star treatment from the NBA. And best of all we get to troll Houston all season long but sacrificing our future for a 2 year rental would be stupid imho.
