I think if Utah were to replace Favors with Anderson it would make them worse on both ends of the court.

I personally don't agree with this thought. Favors defensive talents are duplicated on the team (and therefor don't have as great of impact). The change on the offensive side would have greater benefits to the Jazz

Anderson is a fine role player, but he's drastically overpaid... just like Evan Turner. But I'd much rather have Turner at 17.5 per year than Anderson at 20.

It's not about the fit. It's about the toughness Utah has as a team.
There is zero chance Anderson would play through the injury Favors did in the 2017 playoffs.
Toughness is a skill, Utah has it. Anderson is anything but tough... I mean he let one of the softer bigs in the NBA take it to him in the playoffs.

To be traded to another team before opting in, Melo would have to agree and the team would want to know if he was opting in or not.
I don't know too many teams that would take him if they knew he would make $28M next year. That is why I said for $, he would stay in NY.

No, but whatever team trades for him would want 2 years of him instead of 1. You don't give up assets for a guy then hope he leaves after a year. The team shouldn't expect him to opt out in order to make less money either. Therefore, money isn't a factor.
