We be alright. Fuck all these primadonna wannabe super teams. Let's kill em.

It was melo choice not Knicks, he had to waive his no trade.. presti got him to waive it for them. It was never reported we were ever a real option.

At some point we got to ask maybe Olshey is not good at luring big names.... we haven't gotten any big names to come in if u think about it
Because we're Portland. Because we don't have someone with the pull that Russ does.

Melo and PG are way better than Payton and Malone were. And Lakers still made Finals. Not a comforting comparison.

Sure, But Russ is not Kobe + Shaq and LAL did not win it all (which was the expectation) and they imploded a year after. My gut feeling - they will be good, but not good enough to unsit GSW and there will be a huge melt-down the year after.

Whats your evidence that our FO is trash? Thats such a ridiculous and stupid statement as you have no idea what Olshey could have done or not. What we do know is that we had a very good offer for PG which Kevin Pritchard rejected to take a much worse offer from OKC. Melo had a no trade clause and never said he would waive it for us, how is Olshey supposed to change that? So please enlighten me on why our Front office is trash.

Exactly right. You can certainly question Olshey for re-signing Leonard and offering such huge contracts to Turner and Crabbe but you can't fault him for Bitchard taking much less of an offer and 'Melo not letting himself be traded to Portland.

OKC got 3 stars but they have know bench. Guess what if they are not successful this all 3 of these stars can leave next year. So what they have done through all there marbles in one basket and cross there fingers it don't blow up in there face.

Yeah, their role was they are both already established NBA stars and apparently that's the requirement for Melo. Can't make someone's mind up for them.
But dont you get the sense that Dame doesnt recruit at all, he justifiably thinks that is not his job, but it sounds like that's how deals get done these days. I think we are to the point where if Dame wants to get better players in here he has to sell it.

Sam Presti is one of the best GMs ever

Paul Allen should throw him tons of money and make him the richest GM ever.

Amazing

Another stupid post.

He traded Harden for nothing.

He didn't surround Durant with any talent or competent coaching and ran him out of town.

He lucked into the PG13 deal because Pritchard wouldn't set aside personal feelings...

And lucking into that trade helped him luck into Melo.

And you think he's the greatest GM ever? Your jaded because you're salty.

Ugh

It's either a 2nd round pick or a 2024 first rounder. That's the earliest first round pick OKC could trade.

So, NYK got an overpriced, no defense big man to back up Porzingis and Hernangomez, a backup small forward with a career PER of 10 who is both older and not nearly as good as Mo Harkless and either a 2nd round pick or a first round pick that's at least seven years from now. They traded Carmelo Anthony and didn't even get one starter in return. Kanter and McDermott are both career backups.

And here I was praising Scott Perry for not being dumb enough to accept HOU's shitty offer. This one is less shitty, but still shit.

I hope Melo enjoys standing around in the 4th quarter of every close game, especially the playoffs watching Westbrook play hero ball. Going to OKC is a complete waste of his remaining talent. There is only one ball, and that ball belongs to Russell Westbrook and he ain't giving it up when the game is on the line. Don't believe me, just ask Kevin Durant.

We have Dame, CJ is poised to take another big leap, and we have Nurk, who is going to Nurk Pound the league. Not scared!

You use "luck" when it fits your narrative huh? Lol

I count landing a star for a shit trade package just because the other GM has personal vendettas against those who offered better offers as luck, yes. He didn't get that trade because if any negotiating tactics. Then that player he lucked into was the reason Melo waived his NTC for OKC.

It's hard to get fair value when a player has control over his options.

The MFers acting like the sky is falling need to shapen up.
Kinda tough when you see teams getting better when your gym believes in a mentally unfit 7 footer and put all his chips on crabbe and turner only to give crabbe away for nothing and keep an overpaid turner. We added two rookies. Great, talk to me in a few years when dame and cj' contracts are up and this team still can't get shit
