Damn! Only 17,661 more posts until I'm not a rook anymore. Still over 2,300 posts in 5 months isn't too bad.If you weren't a rook....I'd like THIS post too!

Sure, they could but it would be stupid of the Blazers to stretch Turner. They wouldn't be anywhere close to the same tax OKC has. Turner would be stretched at $36 million instead of $27 million, meaning we'd have a $7.2 million dead cap for just Turner over the next 5 years, which is way too much and would end up costing us money in the long run because we'd likely get taxed on that number over the next two seasons anyway.IF...'Melo agreed to come here for the minimum (since he would still be getting paid $27M from OKC), could the Blazers release Turner and save money against the Lux Tax like OKC is doing?
Yeah, I imagine that's what they'll end up doing. Though, I suppose makes sense to explore some trade possibilities, if someone else was wanting out of a longer deal, but that guy could maybe help OKC this year a little? They'd also have to throw in a bunch of picks to get someone to take on that 28 mil, cuz ain't no way they're taking salary back. Prolly easier just to take the $ hit and buy him out themselves.
I'd take him as our starting SF for next season in a heartbeat.

Besides, why would Melo sign with us instead of the Lakers or Rockets?
I think we should be looking at a way to get in as a 3rd team in a deal, with our TPE.When does Neil jump in?
Jump in? I hope he jumps out of the way. When does Neil jump in?

Problem is that it'd probably our last heartbeats....I'd take him as our starting SF for next season in a heartbeat.

I would do Turner/Leonard for Melo.
They want cap relief, not more cap grief.I would do Turner/Leonard for Melo.

Word is they are going to stretch him, but are doing due diligence first. Not sure how much cap relief they're gonna get. Who has huge expiring deals right now?

Really not sure why BK does this
