If history tells us anything, brining in a has-been star does wonders for team chemistry and winning.

Remember what happened when we brought in Shawn Ke... I mean... Detlef Sch... oh wait. Rod Strickl... nevermind.
What team chemistry???? You watched any games this season FAMS?

And how is this any different than so far this season?

It’s not different. My point is, having three ISO scorers doesn’t work much better than having two because there is only one ball. They just take turns. Whereas having three scoring threats with good court vision and passing ability is much better than two. So adding Melo isn’t gonna help our offense that much but it will hurt our defense compared to say Little who appears at least to be a decent defender. Besides I doubt Melo is anywhere near the scorer we remember from a distant past. I’d rather play young guys and hope we get lucky and find a diamond in the rough. We ain’t winning many games this year either way.

Carmelo's career effective field goal percentage is 48.2 percent. That's not very good. Though it is better than McCollum is doing so far this season, a miserable 45 percent, it's worse than all the other good scorers.
Why are you comparing him to CJ. Compare him to Tolliver and Mario...... the players who’s playing time he will be handed.

Is it weird that I'm strangely excited about this signing? I mean, given the shitstorm of the season so far at least Melo will provide some good content and entertainment value. As long as his minutes come from Hezonja and Tolliver I don't think it will be that bad.

And yes, I am fully aware my optimism will probably fade 3 minutes into Melo playing, but fuck it. That's why we're fans right? It's like being stuck in a bad relationship...
As a fan, 100%.

As a creator, 200%.

With Dame, Pau and Melo on the roster, this will be the most total All-Star appearances on a Blazers roster in a long time (maybe ever?). Too bad two of them are geriatric.
Great trivia question! I had to look a bit. The 2000-01 team also had 20 total.

Kemp-6, Dale Davis-1, Pippen-7, Steve Smith-1, Schrempf-3, Sheed-2 (later got two more). No love for Sabonis....

There may be other years too.

I was saying that all non-guaranteed contracts in the NBA are guaranteed on that date, of course there could be contract clauses that make it guaranteed anytime before that.

My guess is that it's the 7th to give him a chance to clear waivers and see if other teams are interested before the 10th. Hopefully he plays well enough to just stick on the team though.

I always forget out of all people Schrempf had to put up with that (totally awesome, if I may add) roster.
