River, still play much?
I still have my Washburn acoustic I’ve had for 47 years. The tone gets better and better with age! I’m Thinking Melo may too.
I was so proud of my son when he went to college and traded his original Xbox for an 00 Martin guitar that a preacher used in his church...real beautiful instrument....that Xbox is probably in goodwill by now

I have 3 sons and two of them play, one likes finger picking, and the other not so much. Its really cool listen to one of your loin fruits play.

Melo is a George Karl product. Which means he's stubborn but full of moves. He may ignore Stotts a lot. But when the Sonics got rid of Kemp, Karl said with fatigue that Kemp was the most talented player he would ever coach. Karl fought with most of his stars.
George Karl is a dick.

A classier more diplomatic response would have been to instead talk about how great the fans are, and express his appreciation for their support. A person's response in that situation says a lot about their personality and character IMO.

Just as an FYI for you, Carmelo did praise the fans in that interview a lot.

"I thought the fans was incredible tonight. The support that they showed for myself, and it's always for the team in general, but to just be a part of this atmosphere [..] to feel that support and communication from the fans, like that goes a long way I can tell you that." - Carmelo

He praised the fans unprompted, the interviewer never even asked him to talk about the fans. His praise of the fans is what lead to the follow-up question about the chant (plus the question was asking if he "surprised" by the chant, so he answered that specifically).

Mid 90s at The GAP at Lloyd Center saw him smack one of his kids in the face twice! Was completely blown away! Lost all respect for him that day.
What was the kid doing? Wanting to buy a K*be jersey?

Dame is now the second talking point when people bring up the blazers, at least for now. It is all melo all the time and I hope Dame is ok with it. This is still Dame's team but all eyes and keyboards on melo

Melo has a serious 'tude and a "healthy" sense of self. To be honest that is what this team needs. Is he the third star everyone was clamoring for? If he can average close to an efficient 20 a night then maybe.

Great leaders empower their teammates...Dame is playing with Melo more the way he played with Lamarcus…..we needed this PF scoring option ..Dame is team first...he's already been paid and is comfortable in his own skin.....I don't think people realize how many NBA players that are on the same teams don't even like each other....Dame has made a point of creating an inclusive culture in Portland.

How happy do you think Dame is to have someone to really take some heat off him? CJ never really spread the floor for Dame, but Melo is someone that can really draw the defense.

CJ spaces the floor, the problem was no one else consistently did. The addition of Melo and the insertion of Hood into the starting lineup has given Stotts/Dame the necessary pieces to run this offense effectively. They’re tough to stop now because you can’t really double off anyone. Add Nurk and watch out.

Rodney Hood was my early season pick to be our X factor...long before Melo was here..He's feasting on the double coverage Dame and CJ get and now with Melo, he's wide open half the time or being guarded by someone half a foot shorter than him....this is going to work

Wonder when he will start doing melo things.

His track record... Its nice, but has he really changed? Only time will tell. Hope he has, cause itd be nice. But for now, cautious optimism.

Nothing he is doing except maybe the super high efficiency of the last 3 games is any different than what he's doing his entire career so I don't get what "Melo things" will start happening?

I’ll say it AGAIN.....”Melo things” are a fuck of a lot better than “Mario and Tolliver things”. ALL day EVERY day.

Seriously. I was kind of wondering what he was gonna do also? Pretty sure he will have a drought at some point. The guy is a shooter. The way he has been playing physical has me thinking he might end up with nagging injuries? He is 35 so load management might have to come into play at some point? But i'm expecting all of that. La La was the one pushing him to come back so she won't be an issue? Now his kid? That eventually might get tough?
