Trading for Chris Paul would be the most Knicks thing ever.

Maybe the Knicks need Olshey who has proven experience in trading for Chris Paul.

Listened to that entire podcast, and he doesn't sound like someone that wants to come off the bench.

He kept saying how he was okay with whatever role the coach would want from him in OKC and Houston, but then acted like he was basically offended when they told him to come off the bench or play a specific role.

to be fair, he started like every preseason game in houston and then was told to come off the bench right when the season started.

honestly, it would be a slap in the face for him to come off the bench in favor of zach, so i don't see much of a problem in giving him 5 mins to start in each half.

He's not good enough at age 36 to be someone you go out of your way to placate.

In Melo we have a player coach...he's been really good mentoring GT, Nas, Anfernee, Wenyen and Jaylen Hoard....he's also one of the best lobbyists for bringing talent to Portland we've had since Scottie Pippen
Hope so...?

Apparently, Neil has already negotiated a contract for Melo. I wonder how much he's going to pay him....

This will likely push me over the edge with my Blazer fandom. I don't think I can take another year of Melo + CJ. I will likely adopt another team to watch next season - probably Dallas or Miami.

I've said this in other threads but I do not think that Melo is coming back on a min deal or more accurately a min deal +25% which we could give him without any cap hit due to the non-bird exception. I do however think Melo will be on the team. I don't know if Melo would or would not take the min but I do think that Olshey will be Olshey and bid against himself giving Melo like 5 mil of the MLE or more. I think Olshey really believes that our team if healthy, as constructed last season and without Hassan, will be a contender... I vehemently disagree with Olshey and think he needs to make a major move or two in order to maximize the efficacy of a team led by Dame. That being said, I think our rotation will be (given this is a Melo thread I'll err on the side of Melo) Dame, CJ, Ariza, Melo, Nurk, Zach, Gary, Hoodie, Wenyen and Nas... maybe we'll get another consistent contributor with the other 4 mil or less of the MLE but who knows, maybe Ant will surprise us all and show some growth and maybe Rio will opt in... that could all change the very back end of that rotation but the first 8 guys will be getting a ton of minutes should Hoodie be healthy. Is that team better than what we put on the court this season pre-bubble and bubble? Yes. Is that team going to easily make the playoffs? Yes. Will that team have to scratch, claw and fight just to get the fourth or fifth seed, and likely max out it's potential with a second round exit? Unfortunately that's also a solid yes. Finally, does that satisfy us as Blazers fans who can see moves that could bring in talent that is more complementary to Dame's game and make us a team that could be better than Utah, Denver and newer challengers and at least compete with the teams from LA and a likely rejuvenated Warriors team? I don't think so.

I feel your frustration but that is super weak. I mean everyone has their right to choose if they are a fair weather fan but it's not a choice I really like in a sports fan. IMO regardless of what the team does, you should just go find another one to watch or root for or whatever it is fans like you do.

Good luck to you....good choices if you change teams.

Sounds like you’re suffering a Carme-low. Gotta hang in there and see what else happens before jumping ship. Besides, we’d give you so much crap when the Blazers beat your new team.

@SlyPokerDog is this the longest active thread since it's been going for twelve years? I mean it will be twelve years a week from now. Also does it have the most pages at 591?

Longest active, yes.

Most pages in the Blazer forum, yes.

The covid thread in the OT section has the most pages in the forum.

I see only 119 pages
Goddammit I was wondering if that was browser specific so I checked it on two different browsers and both said 591... it might also have to do with site options like posts per page or something, maybe the question is does this have the most posts? I don't know.
