Confused as to how this helps us with our cap situation...

I don't think Neil is looking to improve our cap situation. He's trying to win now. If we got a package that included Anderson, Ariza, and maybe O'Quinn, that would be three veterans to round out our rotation. I think another trade would be coming though.

NY is blowing it up and building around Porzingis. They don't want old players. They want young players that fit the same window as KP. That eliminates Turner, Anderson, and any other older guys on long contracts.

Houston has to clear $26 million.

Portland clearly wants veterans to try to win now.

Also agree with what Nate's been saying .. Neil and Paul aren't looking to shed salary (as a main priority), they want to win now! We've got no money in the FA market and Neil will look to lurk as a third team this summer and acquire talent that we, in regular situations, wouldn't have been able to obtain.

Aside from injuries what's your problem with Anderson?

He's a very competent floor spacer.

Can't be argued that if healthy he is a big improvement over Meyers in basically every category.

Plus I feel for what he's been through. I know that Shouldn't be a qualification, doesn't make it any less true.

If it's Crabbe/Meyers for Anderson/Ariza/O'Quinn I could live with it. One shitty contract for another shitty contract at a position of need.

If it's Harkless/Meyers for Anderson..... that's really trading two contracts that I think are easier to stomache, for a shitty contract of a player that's really not that good.
