C J is building his brand the right way...he'll end up president of the players association one day...book it

Oh no. Melo to the Lakers? You heard it here first.
What?
What?
Stupid joke. Ball in Melo's court. You can't win them all. This one is on me.
I got you boo.

LaMelo Ball will probably be a Laker.
Did you work the boxing match at the Forum? I watched it with my dad last night and saw the ref in the way of the action several times. I thought I recognized your work.Just ran into and chatted with Meyers at PDX as I landed. He was on his way out.......hmmmmmm
They're not trading him for a 29 year old Ryan Anderson who makes 20 million a year.
Really? Where was this reported? I'm not doubting you, I just haven't seen it.Knicks have already agreed to Harkless. Ball in Melo's court.
Where have you been?Agreed. They'll want more than that. My point is that we don't exactly have the options to get him either.
Last I checked, Ryan Anderson was at least a second option and put up decent numbers with Orlando and New Orleans. Harkless just hit double digits on scoring for the first time this year (10.0 ppg).Haven't been paying much attention, eh?
Sure they want Harkless...as about 25% of the deal. The two players aren't equivalent.Regardless of your own personal feelings about Harkless, literally every trade rumor involving Melo has centered around the fact that
1.) Knicks don't want Anderson, or else the deal would be done already.
2.) Knicks want Harkless.
So clearly, he's more valuable to them.
Where have you been?
The Knicks want Harkless. They don't want Ryan Anderson.
Melo has a no trade clause so the Knicks hands are tied to where Melo wants to go.
A better argument is that Melo won't waive his no trade clause to come here.
This is entertaining if only to piss off Rocket fans.
But I'd love for it to happen just to anger Houston fans.

I'm not saying Anderson is a superstar and Harkless is garbage, I'm simply saying that we're in no position to be laughing at anyone when it comes to bargaining chips.
I should add that from my perusal of Clutchfans (always a guilty pleasure, especially when things aren't going the Rockets' way), they seem to consider Anthony a superstar who would put them on the same level as Golden State. While I think that's a laughable idea, they'd probably view Portland getting Anthony as stealing their chance at beating Golden State and winning a title. Them feeling that way would make me so happy.

It's like they think they're getting the Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony from five years ago.

Well, to be fair, I'd still say Paul is a top-ten player even if no longer at his absolute peak. Anthony though...isn't. Great name value, though.
Minstrel, in a way, I would prefer them getting Anthony and having them fall comically short, leaving them salary hamstrung for the forseeable future.I should add that from my perusal of Clutchfans (always a guilty pleasure, especially when things aren't going the Rockets' way), they seem to consider Anthony a superstar who would put them on the same level as Golden State.
