every team in our division (other than us) either gained or lost a player who was an all star last season.
I really feel for the Jazz. That shit that happened to them shouldn't be allowed or should be protected, something. They did everything right and were looking good then that shit is just gone after years of building.

Ehh, that team was never getting passed the 2nd round anyway. They're still young, and I think Mitchell is gonna be a star. Draft a couple star level players to a young core of Mitchell, Hood, and Gobert and they'll be better than they were before.

I'm not feeling to sorry for the Jazz. Thats happened to the Blazers and it sucks, but you move on.

I was guoting the twitter guy.

I haven't been told anything different about Portland being involved

David Aldridge: "I’ve learned never to say never, Ryan. It’s hard to see how that deal comes together, though — unless, somehow, the Rockets are willing to do something they currently haven’t been inclined to do, like including a young player like a Clint Capela in any potential deal with the Knicks, or taking Joakim Noah’s contract as well. Could they do so in a (pardon the pun) New York minute? Sure. But as of this writing, they haven’t been, and the Knicks aren’t at all interested in Ryan Anderson, or Maurice Harkless from Portland."

Reeeeeeeeallly....? If they're not interested in Harkless, then why are we being mentioned in connection to the Melo deal at all?? That seems to make no sense.

We definitely need to get out of this discussion. Turner and Harkless at SF is good enough.
Now our target should be turning some expiring contracts (Aminu and Davis) into a better 3rd guard to create the best rotation with Dame and CJ for when one of them is on the bench

Just to clarify, while Aminu's contract is reasonable, it is not expiring next summer.... He has one more year after this coming season.

Turner has spent half his career playing SG. I would argue he is our third guard. He gets Dame and CJ's scraps and then gets some minutes at SF as needed after Harkless goes out. Also, don't discount Layman at SF this year. His defense, ball handling and passing looked good enough to get some time this year. If he can turn that beautiful shot form into results then Harkless might lose his job.

Harkless is about to break out this season.

Mark my words.

No, Turner is ideally a SF like Aminu is ideally a PF, we NEED another real guard (preferably a combo guard) to solidify our backcourt rotation.
Regarding Layman, I hope he gets at least some playing time, I think he's earned it

I hope he does. His is the only signed jersey I have. The only thing holding him back is just letting his inner tiger loose. You can see in his eyes he has that killer instinct, and he lets in out now and then, but he needs to let that cat loose all the time. He has the body and the shot to really make it, I think he is just too nice and defers too much.

Harkless needs to watch a bunch of Kersey videos. Kersey had a great balance of recognizing he wasn't one of the big dogs, but being aggressive and scoring at the right times. Amazing that Kersey averaged 19pts/8reb as a SF when he was 25.

Napier is an option but we need a better versatile wing/perimeter defender. Donavan Mitchell woulda been ideal.

Too bad we don't have a guy with good handles, who can score and pass well, and can also defend 1-3. That would be perfect.

I would consider Turner, but he can't because he's a SF.

I don't want to take the ball out of CJ's hands to put it into ET's. Turner's a gamer no doubt, but the fit is just awful.

Yep, despite having not been in favor of Mitchell throughout the draft process, I'm starting to lament Collins over Mitchell, simply because of the value he could have provided as a 3rd guard after Crabbe's departure. And honestly, without Collins in the fold, holding onto Nicholson as a 3rd-string big would actually make a lot of sense.

In time, Collins may still turn out to have been the right pick and the better player, but with the roster as currently constructed, Mitchell would definitely have been a better immediate fit.

Ya, that doesn't make any sense. Also, DA has a history of mistyping and misspeaking on certain topics I've noticed.

I didn't watch too much of him but don't remember being overly impressed.
I would also want not a SG but a combo guard, I want the type of basketball we play with Dame and CJ for the entire game. I understand bringing someone as good as them isn't realistic but if Napier isn't getting any minutes, I would look for an upgrade in his role for someone who would play 20-24 mpg
