Damn, Melo is really set on being with the Rockets. That's kinda crazy to me, I feel like he would do way better here

What would they offer? They'd have to match salaries, and I don't see any reason NY would want Kanter.

They would have to offer Kanter. Adams is not likely to be included in a deal as Anthony-Kanter frontcourt would leave them so ridiculously exposed.

I feel pretty good about Blazers chances to land Melo... at some point he will realize that a trade to Houston is unrealistic because they lack the assets... CJ's recruitment will be the difference in the end

The Knicks remain willing to start training camp with Anthony, 33, on the roster,

Portland has kept an interest in Anthony, with Trail Blazers All-Stars Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum continuing to recruit Anthony to consider the Blazers as an alternative to Houston, league sources said.

The Knicks have become willing again to make an Anthony deal before the start of training camp in September, especially after Anthony made it clear that the franchise's hopes of getting him to embrace a return to the team -- after months of ex-president Phil Jackson's pushing for Anthony to waive his no-trade -- are fruitless.

If the following is true and the Knicks are holding steadfast, I don't see him going to HOU.

I think CJ's recruitment will be fruitless and go unheard, just like my attempt to recruit you to our fantasy football league. :onthephone:

NY does not want any part of Houstons shitty player package and neither does the rest of the league. If it hasn't happened yet, it's not going to happen. Teams are not going to wake up and say ya know, I do want to cripple my teams future with Ryan Andersons contract.

Maybe KP is so butthurt he'll get Indy involved to make sure Portland can't get him. I mean, given the allegations that he turned down our 3 first rounders for Paul George over the package he did take....

This has played out before, involving two of the current principles (if we count Portland a principle in this case). Pippen demanded a trade out of Houston and the Lakers wanted to trade for him and Pippen wanted to go to LA, due to Phil Jackson. But they (obviously) took Shaq and Kobe off the table and Houston wasn't interested in the players (like Glen Rice) being offered.

In the end, no deal could be arranged with LA and Portland swooped in and got the deal done.

Obviously, the main difference here is that Pippen didn't have a no-trade clause. So the end result isn't necessarily going to be similar. But just because two teams (and the player involved) are motivated to make a deal doesn't mean they will inevitably find a way to make it work.

Haha, sorry bro, forgot to respond... have exams I have to study for. No time for fantasy football this year.

CJ is making a hell of a brand for himself.....he's fearless about his career....best salesman we could wish for. Way to represent! I think he likes the challenge...it's like beating Duke when playing for Lehigh....beat the Rockets and Cavs to the punch

I'm pretty agnostic on the whole Melo situation. If we get him, we get him. If we don't, we don't.

With so many player bailing on their teams - KD bailing on OKC, CP3 bailing on the Clippers, PG13 bailing on IND, Melo bailing on the Knicks, etc., it REALLY make me appreciate what we have in Dame and C.J. - two great players and great character guys who WANT to be here.

I think he'd thrive with Stotts system....really thrive....as I've said...he's had 5 coaches and 4 GMs in NY......probably not spent a lot of time around intelligent players like CJ......he's been around some knuckleheads...I know he's a great player from the Olympics....he'd be Stotts version of Dirk and we know how that worked out.....I'm at the point where if it costs Mo and Meyers....I'd take the risk and let Swanigan take Mo's minutes.

Seriously....how many fucking things can they have to say at this point? Are you sure that you're sure that you're sure you're sure that you don't want Ryan Anderson?
Lmao.

This dude has a month to figure out he's not going to go to Houston and still has a chance to be on a playoff team, do you think he'll figure this out?
