Lillard was on everyday struggle and touched on the Melo subject a bit. Said he doesn't usually recruit but he likes Melos vibe as a person and think he'd fit. Doesn't sound like it's a closed door.

Around the 52m mark

Man, you gotta say whether or not this is safe for work bro. There's lots of cussing. I had to mute it.

NY Daily News:

Anthony’s camp is cautiously optimistic that a deal will be struck before Monday, and trying not to think about the potential media circus that will take place if Carmelo is still with the Knicks. Two weeks ago, Carmelo’s wife, La La, said the family thought a trade would have been completed by now.

Mentally, Carmelo and his family have moved on to Houston. Reality is another story. Hopefully, Mills and Perry will have the right answers when they address the media on Friday because the Carmelo issue isn’t going away until he goes away.

Frank Isola lol

He's not going to Houston (unless Houston magically produced an asset in the past month.) It would've happened already. He's either staying in NY or coming to Portland.

If Carmelo REALLY wants to go to Houston, it's easy. He and the Knicks can agree to tear up his contract. I think they'd actually go for that. (I'm pretty sure that's happened before - right? I'm not talking buyout, I'm talking just both sides agree to annul the contract.)

Honest question, would you downgrade our defense by giving up 2 more PPG if it meant us scoring 4 more PPG?
If we gave up more ppg than last year, the entire world would downgrade our defense. Is that up for debate?

I am not convinced it would make us better but I would like to see it happen nonetheless, as long as we do not give up too much. (for a possible one year rental) We are talking about replacing Harkless with Melo right? I would take the chance.

Windhorst mentioned Harkless and Aminu but I'm pretty confident that Aminu isn't included in our offer. Vonleh is more likely. Don't know how I'd feel about including Aminu. His defense would be even more valuable with Melo on the squad.

Plus he would fit next to Melo, as you could put Aminu on the better forward, and Melo on the worse forward.

Harkless, Davis, Vonleh, Napier, and a 2018 1st for Melo and either of Lee or O'Quinn

Knicks and Melo theoretically could do that. It would be a 'buy out' for $0.

The issue is Houston could only offer Melo the Vet Min. So essentially, Melo gives up $26M to move to Houston - not going to happen.

Nope. Carmelo wants to still get paid too.

I did say he'd REALLY have to want it.

If this nightmare happens, I will be the first to tell you supporters of this to fuck yourselves when one of you complains about he or the team.
