I don't care, I'm a big fan......and we didn't use the #5 pick to get him.

TRob seems to be a quick leaper. He explodes to the ball very well. Buck in his early days with NJ may have been that way, but with the Blazers it was more about out working his opponent. Boxing everyone out.

Robinson will only get better IMO once he learns the tricks of the trade.

All the tools are there. He just needs someone to help him polish it.

I refuse to comment as it being so easy.

Dame was totally dominant tonight. Got whatever he wanted. On both ends of the floor. Wow

He hounded CP3... I was really impressed.

His floater still needs work but he's trying it at least.

I want someone to help him polish his rebounding/garbage game. He's physically a beast, has hops, and if he can get it in his head he's not a franchise player, he'll be a much better version of a guy like Reggie Evans. I see Rick Mahorn in him, if he'll embrace it.

Doesn't look like 20K ft, looks like 20ft. Airplane doors still open!

Are your expectations different head we spent the #5 pick in the draft on him....... or gave up a bunch to get him? I've let it be known that mine are!

He shut down CP3 and still scored a bit. I'd take that defensive effort against a HOF PG in his prime than a 30 point game where he gives up 16/11 to Paul in a loss.

Very impressed by Lillard tonight, and glad to finally be able to watch a game. KGW would almost have to get some better ratings for a preseason game over whatever they aired tonight, right?

I fought the sandman and forced myself to watch the replay, but glad I did. I've found it tough to get excited about this new season, but definitely came away much more enthused, because definitely see improvement in individual players and progress for the team on the whole. Here's what I noticed:

1. Lillard shoots a lot. Probably too much, but hopefully he'll temper the jack rate once the cast is full again. His midrange game and creating shots with his dribble seems better.

2. Mo Williams shoot a lot, too. But the bench needs a guy like that and he'll probably be one of Stotts last 5 to close games because of his scoring threat.

3. Claver looks much more relaxed shooting the rock and much bigger physically. He did a lot of dirty work down low with Griffin and held his own.

4. Leonard's alleyoop dunk was the best coordinated move I've ever seen him make. He still has so far to go though.

5. The announcers were ragging on Robinson, but he was boarding hard down the stretch and disrupted on defense with his energy. I thought the boneheaded plays and ill advised shots were at a minimum for him.

6. The team played with poise, even the bottom of the bench to close the game. That's new.

7. Rebounding and defense was miles better than last season.

8. Lopez is probably going to drive us nuts with his rigid touch around the hoop, but his sheer size is going to pay big dividends.

9. Batum showcased some post work and thought he looked pretty good doing it.

10. Even without the new players, I think our bench would have been improved over last year due to Claver and Freeland and even Barton making strides.

Lillard leads Blazers over Clippers, 94-84

Damian Lillard scored 12 of his 16 points in the third quarter to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 94-84 exhibition victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.

Lillard scored nine consecutive points in the period as the Blazers pulled away after trailing by a point at halftime. Nicolas Batum scored 14 points and Robin Lopez added nine points and 10 rebounds as Portland built a 17-point lead with less than 10 minutes left in the game.

Hey Nate, it looks like Chris Paul is gonna suck this year. He only had 7 points and 3 assists in a preseason game. Cause for concern...

I have been one of the posters who was not particularly impressed with the pick ups of T-Rob and Lopez. But watching the last couple games I will say that I enjoy that this Blazer team is more physical. T-Rob and Lopez aren't afraid to lay a body on someone and they leave a mark (mentally) on some of those fouls.

Agreed (although I've always been pro-Lopez).

Please remember we gave up FUCKING NOTHING for Thomas Robinson!

Like the Lakers gave up nothing for Pau Gasol...

(Fucking nothing is very unsatisfying, so giving it up is understandable.)

7. Rebounding and defense was MEYERS better than last season.

I liked what i saw out of Dame tonight. Like so much. He could really be a tippy top franchise player in this league.

Oh and Meyers be mean muggin' in that pic.

I am happy with Lopez so far. I think he can get better but he definitely has helped.
