True, but they lost anyways didn't they? If the A-Bomb wasn't dropped on them, and them knowing the end of their country as they knew it was near, and as their religion tought them not to surrender (they considered those people scum) who knows what they would have done to survive. Keep in mind, Stalin was still in power at the time, Italy had just overthrown Mussolini and we starting over, France just got their country back, and England was hurting from the battle with Germany (if it wasn't for their radar, they wouldn't have made it). The West was hurting, and not all countries got involved in the war anyways, why would they now? It is hard to tell. Countries that were in the war are hurting, other countries just got their independence back, and some didn't want to be involved with the war. If Japan had dropped the bomb on us, they wasn't a whole lot for them to have to fight back. Remember, after the War Russia wasn't to happy with us, who knows, what if Russia (not saying they would of) decided to join Japan. I mean, Stalin was mad at the US for keeping secrets from him. Roosevelt and Churchill had become good friends, and Stalin wasn't a trustworthy guy anyways. Why wouldn't he join Japan (he did have an alliance with Germany and not untill Hitler broke that, did Stalin invade Germany). I mean, there is a lot of "If" and "Buts" about WW2. A lot of that war didn't make since, who really knows what might have happend.
