Politics The ultimate hypocrisy

Let's not forget the way natives were treated.
Sure, though some of that was way outside their knowledge base (with diseases and how they spread amongst Native Americans). - Not really making excuses for them, but there's a lot of stuff I'm kind of fuzzy on with Native American history (my grandmother on my Dad's side was Cherokee) and there are some interesting family stories passed down.

I would still stand by that I think that, that particular line is a very good line of thinking to start with.

Killing their food source was the genocide move...slaughtering Bisons and leaving the meat to rot....game over

so the MAGA hats and all the other MAGA crap is really just a bullshit slogan you trumpers have bought into. Thanks for the clarification.

Or stealing all of their land, breaking treaties, forced relocation, and planned genocide.

Made much easier once the source of food warmth and shelter was gone....Bison manure was used for fire at the tepee and cooking area...hide for blankets and shelters...bones for tools...our govt paid cowboys to wipe them out

Look, I'm going to be straight-up with you, Cuparooskie: Trump has let me down in many, many ways. I will acknowledge that and you can make it part of your signature if you'd like. It makes no difference to moi.

That said, Big D's original premise of draining the swamp, etc., etc., etc. was (is still) a very compelling one. Washington is corrupt beyond anyone's imaginations! It spreads completely across party lines! The thing is, he's probably just become "too" much of a cowboy for many. Is he corrupt/criminal? Maybe so. Does he still have those original aspirations of MAGA? Perhaps. I'm still hoping so. Deep down, I think he's still striving for the USA to be a "country on a hill". Call it nationalism. Call it what you'd like. I believe the guy completely has our national interests in mind with every decision he makes. Time loves a hero. He may end up falling into that category. We shall see. Sorry about the lame cliche'.

Meanwhile, the pendulum continues to swing. We are in very, very interesting, if not volatile, times.

Given the number of political indictments of his administration - I would say that the Trump administration in a bid to avoid disappointing it's voters decided to bring the swamp to Washington - so there will be something to drain.

If we are looking at the number of convictions per year - at 3.5 the Trump administration is well behind the Nixon administration, but well ahead of #3 (Reagan).

Good news, if we include the foreign convictions of people associated with the administration, Trump's administration is closer to his goal of surpassing Nixon.

Washington is corrupt beyond anyone's imaginations

Given that the previous administration (in 8 years) gave us 0 indicments, convictions or imprisonments - I can see why Trump had to bring so many crooks to have something to drain...

I believe the guy completely has our national interests in mind with every decision he makes. Time loves a hero. He may end up falling into that category.

So naive it's almost charming.

Personal opinion haven't really tried to fact check anything but he brought in a new swamp. Much of the old swamp is still there, and many of them have been scratching each other's back so long their's marks but they have 0 reasons to turn on each other as that would cause issues for all of them. It was easy for them to go after Trumps group of idiots because they didn't have as much or any dirt on them.

This is as good a call for term limits on everything (congress, senate, supreme court) as anything that can be said.

But, equating Trump with draining the swamp when Shrek would not live in Trump's dwelling is hypocrisy.

Yeah, I never thought Trump was “the guy”, for it, but I guess for better or worse part of me heard “drain the swamp in washington”, and I thought well that doesnt seem so terrible...
Not sure thats making sense. Lol

oh my gosh, you mean you haven't been straight up with me in the past? I am shocked. If you truly believe the guy has the countries best interest then you have been dupedinskied. People who lie on a daily basis don't have "our" best interest in mind. The guy has no clue about foreign diplomacy and seems to have a fascination with dictators and his current stonewalling and refusing to cooperate with various committees don;t have our best interest in mind. A president who offers massive tax cuts to the ultra wealthy and large corporations don't have out best interest in mind. Someone who constantly personally attacks, calls American citizens enemy of the people don;t have our best interest in mind. Should I go on? Now tell me what best interests he has in mind for me. :dunno:

Oh, and his draining the swamp bullshit was him filling up the swamp with his pay to play friends, aka as swamp rats. Betsy Devos? Linda McMahon? Sondland, the ambassador to the EU? and there are several others that are part of the pay to play in his administration.

Dude, I'm ultra-wealthy and I appreciate the fact that I can give excesses to whomever I want. I don't need the friggin government making those calls for me, thank-you-very-much.

The way I read it you just admitted you are naive about your belief in Trump.

Well, geez, of COURSE I am, silly! That said, we're all naive' in SO many ways.

It makes perfect sense. The man has mass market communication skills and clearly managed to appeal to enough people. There are still a lot more of us that could not enjoy the pretty pictures of the deodorant over the smell of rotting waste. Hopefully, in the upcoming elections more people will differentiate the pretty pictures from the stench.

Term limits would be nice, but especially for judges. No one should be appointed a lifetime position as at least with people in congress and the presidency they can be voted out. Trying to remove a lifetime judge is next to impossible.
.

I have heard it being said that knowing that you have been naive, and repeating the same action hoping for a different outcome takes you out of the naive category.

Well, let's just all hope and pray for impeachment, then.

So once again, you reveal your true colors that it's only about you and fuck anyone else. Thanks for the clarification Howard Hughes. :drumroll:

Not at all certain what that means, but I'll tell ya what, I give to amazing causes. My point is, I want ME to give it....NOT the government.

BTW, dude, in 2015 I was on unemployment in Bend, OR Nobody needs to tell me it's all about me. I simply found a way to get above the fray. I got my license as a realtor in TN and now sell commercial real estate. Thanks to our economy I'm doing very, very well.

I'm not a special case. Me thinks most anyone could do what i do with the right amount of sincerity and work ethic.
