The view from Houston's fans

I think Houston will have much more success on defense against our starters with Asik in place of Terrance Jones. Will that benefit more than offset the offensive problems of a clogged lane with two centers? I think it might. But I don't think Houston will try that lineup until they get behind in the series. They won't want to try some experiment for the first time in 60 games just as the playoffs start.

Man, are we this crazy? And if they substitute "Harden" for "Lillard" in their last 2 pages of rant it makes better sense.

Apparently Beverley only gives 90%: 80% effort, and 10% theater.

The bottom line for me is that I wish Lillard would stop talking about Beverley. He's like the MIXUM of the NBA. If you're distracted by his schtick even a bit, it's a win for him because he's at such a physical and skill disadvantage.

Just ignore him, and it will drive him nuts. He'll just ramp up the silliness and the refs will deal with it. Play your game, and don't try to embarrass him; he'll do that all by himself. If Lillard tries to make it about he and Beverley, then we lose.

I think Lillard will be okay; we'll see how it goes though. Beverley is just Ruben Patterson.

It's like some of you guys don't understand how interviews work.

Someone asked him about Beverley. He answered. He wasn't whining. He wasn't complaining. He was asked a question and he answered honestly. It's not like he called a press conference to complain about the guy. He said he thought Bev flopped and held, but that it didn't really bother him. Question asked, answer given. Period.

I really hate how people overreact to something a player says while he's being interviewed. This is EXACTLY why players don't want to give candid answers to interviews.

Totally agree. It's not like he pulled a Beverly and asked an interviewer to ask him about him.

To date, Bev has got the best of Lillard. But Lillard is one of the most competitive guys in the Blazer locker room and I envision a Lillard locked into what he has to do this series. Lillard is a far better talent than Bev and he is going to figure out how to bring this out in the playoffs. Basically both players will have multiple days and games to study and plan for each other and I think Lillard comes out on top in that situation.

I'm not talking about his interviews. I'm talking about how ON THE COURT he made it about he and Beverley, rather than about running the team.

You said bottom line you wish he'd stop talking about him. Is he talking about him on the court?

I like these quotes by Rockets fans:

Wes Matthews had more FT attempts than Harden even though Harden was way more aggressive.

Refs like to reward jumpshooters who get barely touched while taking a jumpshot, even if they're leaning into the defender ... they swallow the whistle when it's someone attacking the rim and drawing contact.

I can't believe a team with James Harden is complaining about the opponents teams SG going to the line!

Okay, you NAILED me on semantics. BOOM!

What I meant was, I wish he would just ignore him, both on and off the court. When asked about him, clearly he was in his head, because he went off on a soliloquy about how Beverley plays. That's giving Beverley every thing he wants. Lilard should have given him the brush off. Clearly, he's bothered by him. He shouldn't be. If he plays his game, then he'll expose Beverley.

Nobody ever mistook a Rockets fan for an intellect.

And Beverely asking a reporter to please bring Lillard up means Lillard isn't in Beverely's head? That right there is a classic case of someone having someone else on their mind, and just can't wait to tell them all about it. It's a very human thing to do.

Totally; Beverley has one claim to fame right now: he might be a Dame-stopper. We don't know for sure yet because being a Superstar-stopper only counts in the playoffs. Beverley is just another Ruben Patterson trying to trade on his ability to bully one player in particular. If he was within himself and actually confident, he wouldn't bring up Damian unless asked.

You wanna talk about talking too much about your opponent? Beverley is that guy, not Damian. Damian's just talking straight because he'll never feel like he has to toe any company line. He's so confident.

I hope dame/wes/stotts troll the shit out of bev just like they did westbrook

It's a case of Beverley doing his job. He's going to do everything he can to distract Lillard, because he can't compete with him on a talent level. Someone else posted it here, and they were right. It's no different from Ruben "K*be Stopper" Patterson.

There's a role for those guys in the league. I would hope we had a few of them on our bench.

And I still would want beverley on my bench if he were affordable and available, because he's a pest.

Houston fans might actually be more delusional than Laker fans.
