LMA plays like he plays nowadays
Roy has no knee problems
Oden is...I don't know, healthier?

60 win team?

And yes, I know that if Roy never had his knee problems, there's a good chance LMA might've never developed as he has today. But this is hypothetical of course.

The interesting thing is, this may still be possible. Oden still IMO has a chance to come back and play like a top three center. My biggest worry is that the organization has already given up on him.
If Roy ever finds a way to keep his knees relatively calm, his shooting ability is still a threat, especially if we'll have Oden and LMA in the middle. He won't need to drive as much. There was a few games this season where he hit the 20's with these knees on nights where the team didn't depend on him.

That would not be successful because Roy/Nate wouldn't handle that well

Your hypothetical would never happen because LMA would have never blossomed like this in Oden's and Roy's respective shadow.

Aldridge doesn't have to put up 25/11 to be a badass. It's his attitude and his agression that's the change, not the offense running through him.

I posted the same thought in one of the Aldridge threads. I should have read this one first.

Seeing what we're seeing from Aldridge is why I support this front office and our former GM. Roy has been a top level SG. Oden, when he's been on the court, has put up breathtaking numbers. We've just had shitty luck. Sure we took a few chances, but things have gone even worse when it comes to injuries than the worst case realistic scenario. This was constructed to be a championship-level team. What a shame it likely won't come to pass.

He never would have moved his game inside like this with Oden on the low block and Roy driving so much ... his attitude would have almost assuredly remained that of a pick and pop player; necessity is the mother of invention as they say. Even with all of this success he's experience LMA's natural inclination to defer comes through in interviews where he tends to deflect praise to his teammates for setting him up. That's usually a fairly hollow bit of hyperbole coming from the mouth of most alpha dog athletes, but in this case I actually believe LMA.

This thread is a colossal waste of time.

given health, 60+ wins has been my prediction the last two seasons

STOMP

If the price to pay for Aldridge deferring is a healthy Roy and Oden, I'll take that.

Oh well. At least Aldridge is stepping up.

If we can get a PG that can shoot, we might not even need Roy. Wes would be a great 3rd option at SG. With Batum at SF as the glue-man and a PG like Nelson or Mo-Will, we would dominate if Oden came back healthy next season (or whenever the lockout is done).

It would look like Orlando's offense. Except we would have two options in the middle, with one of those options having the ability to step out for a jumper. And then surround the arc with shooters like Wes, Batum, and a really really good shooting PG (Nelson, Mo, Ellis, Terry). Not to mention, the defense would be outstanding.
