I find it annoying how so many people not only in this country but all over the wotld, feel like everything is going to hell. My lord, if only these people lived hundreds of years ago when their were so many more real problems. Right now, we are pretty much controlled by media. The international media, where everything negative around the world is spread through the news. Negative news gets outrage and viewers....so most of us never get the positive...and it's everywhere, media negativity. There has been genocide, war, famine, murder, molestation, natural disasters ever since man's existance and now people think that the world is going to hell? Why don't people realize that the world is always gonig to have problems....it's a part of life...as unfortunant as that might be.But people, my lord. It's not that f*cking bad!

People need drama. but I agree, the world is a much safer place than it has ever been. but the big reason why people think the world is going to hell as you put it, is they are just ignorant of History. If people knew what has happened in the past, they would understand how good the world really is.

I'd say the world's pretty much going to be in danger soon. Hundreds of years ago, the U.S. and China weren't using tons of oil and other unrenewable resources. Hundreds of years ago there were massive gaping holes in the ozone. So no, we're not fine, and yes, we're worse off than hundreds of years ago. Not to mention humans are now becoming capable of nuclear warfare, which is absolutely NOTHING BUT bad.

The world is going two ways at once. On the one hand it is the most liberal era in the history of the world, and there is the most education, money, health care, etc in the history of the world. The least racism. The least wars. etc.On the other hand, the world has the highest potential of changing drastically that it's ever had. Between nukes, global warming, etc, there are definitely more risks that have the potential to destroy the world than there have ever been. not saying they're likely to happen, but they're there.The media plays off the negative end of things and inflates those minute chances.

You are highly ignorant.You, like 90% of people have not done your research on the effects of Global Warming ETC. :no3: 100 years from now Life will not be able to exist on Earth, unless a dramatic change occurs right now, which it won't. The world will still be here, but our Grandchildren won't.Also there is lots of social issues, and problems in the World that are massive problems could be prevented.Grow up in a Group Home in the Projects, or visit Haiti, than you will soon realize the world isn't as cherry as you believe it is from the comfort of your PC.I personally have a great life, and I am blessed, but so many people don't. Shoot, 100 miles outside of Charlotte alot of people don't have electricity, or running water. In my school system I go to alone, there is 5,000 homeless children that attend school. Many of them living on the street, or in dangerous shelters where they can be raped ETC...I am not going to complain about my own personal issues, but the world is not fine. With our environment the way it is, we are likely one of the last generations to ever exist, you would think that would be a wake up call, but people don't like to listen.

Global warming is a natual process our ancestors, who were far off worse than us, survived. We are only speeding up the process...which isnt good, but global warming wont kill out humankind, it might be serious like a ice age..but it wont kill out the human race.

There will be life in 100 years including humans, unless we nuke ourselves into oblvion. the Earth has been a lot hotter than it is now many times in the past. We cannot accurantly say anything about the history of the ozone layer, because until recently we didn't have the technology to even know it existed. The hole in the Antartic may have always been there, there are a lot of funky things that happen at the poles which don't happen anywhere else. granted all these greenhouse gases aren't a good thing, and I agree we should try to prevent them as much as possible, but they aren't going to end the world. Yes I know the world is getting hotter, but a lot of the weather patterns which climatologist use are from sources spaning from the late 1400s to the present, what most fail to mention is that there seemed to be a mini ice age from about 1700-1850, including a year with pretty much snowfall all year round in 1817?. so to say the world is heating up is a misnomer. There are some people who are bad off, but they are in no way as bad off as people were hell 70 years ago. for the most part people have access to the best healthcare in the history of the world. war is a at an all-time low, rarely do you see military forces attacking civilians now days, and when they do the whole world gets pissed off. Genocide is only going on in a mass scale in one country, just 10 years about there were about 7 countries which were commiting genocide, 150 years ago there was mass genocide everywhere on this planet. so yes things are getting better.

I just don't believe the doomsdayers that think it will kill of a certain percentage of the worlds population. I think people will adapt to the changes...etc... You have to put this stuff in perspective. 60 years ago many scientists thought the world would be starving to death because of the population boom, they thought the planet would be in shambles, poorer countries big cities would turn into giant slumbs, millions would die.....those people who predicted all that off numbers, but they did not put in the equation how the world and people, and technology would change. Look at the world in 1950, look at it now, now these global warming people want us to look ahead 75 years, do they know what the world will be like then? I don't like to look ahead that far, because historicly, doomsdayers have always been wrong.
