These teens should be sent to prison

Good lord, idk what's worse that a person could hurt a child or that another person could be so calm and record it.

Idk what is up with this culture of recording stuff and saying "daaaaaamn" or making snarky comments. This isn't the movie Friday... This is fucking real life. Help these people.

There, but by the grace of a bullet, goes our future.

You get tougher sentences when you commit an assault in front of a child. But yeah, that bitch has no soul. The fact that people film beatings like this and enjoy it is disgusting. Hopefully that baby recovers and is not damaged for life. Those girls should have just got up and left

Bullet to the head.

This is absolutely a hate crime. Racism goes both ways. They beat the shit out of her because she is white and was sitting in the wrong park.

Where is the outrage?

This happened back in June. Police claimed immediately that is was not a racially motivated attack. I can't help but think if this were reversed, there would be riots in that city

Naw, prison is intended to modify behavior. It doesn't and it won't fix this. A few plants in the neighborhood could though. Imagine the victim instead of sitting there being the victim , gets up
and knocks the living shit out of the lot. It wouldn't take long to modify their behavior. I imagine just two encounters and even the dumbest would learn. Harsh? No, overdue.

fify.

While I agree with you, things have changed. Sadly the days of good old boy justice are over.

When violence is involved, most DAs no longer take the side of who is right. They take the side that uses the least amount of force. If you are attacked in a public place and need to defend yourself but use greater force than the attacker, you now have a good chance of being prosecuted. Often the attacker is let go to be free to testify against you.

How do I know this? From many reports, however sadly, from personal experience.

While in my late 50s, I was attacked by 6 drunk/drugged-up partiers. Their ages ranged in the 20-30s, about half my age. They made verbal threats that made it very clear they were going to beat the shit out of me. Then they all ran towards me on the public street. When the first one was within an arms length away with a fist raised to punch me, I defended myself with a large can of bear spray I happened to be carrying in my back pocket. The rest backed off enough that I got away.

Despite odds of 6 against one, The DA determined I used excessive force to defend myself. I was charged with 6 counts of felony assault.

Since I did not have a scratch on me, and two of the attackers needed medical treatment, I was charged, not the attackers. The charges where later dropped, but it cost me over a thousand $ in legal fees to defend my actions.

I would do the same thing again. But have learned our legal system has very little to do with justice and what is right or wrong.

Ha! I would say you came out on top! You are here to tell a good yarn. Victims don't usually make it.

BTW, what's the brand of that bear spray?

Sorry, do not remember the brand. I bought the spray while visiting Anchorage about 15 or so years ago.

The police that arrived with the Para-medics had issues with my bear spray instead of a regular pepper spray. What I found out later is, the bear spray I used was actually weaker than pepper spray, but shoots much further. Bears have very sensitive noses, thousands of times more sensitive than humans. A strong spray is not necessary on a bear, but keeping a bear at a distance is important. The problem was, I hit two of the attackers in the eyes from point blank range. 6 years in the Marine Corps taught me how to shoot straight under pressure.

It's America. Justice goes to the highest bidder. Having said that, good for you!! I personally would get a chubby everytime I thought of one dirt bag screaming in anguish while the other cowards ran. It was worth the money because you're still here in one piece and 6 scumbags will spend the rest of their lives thinking twice about jumping someone else. Fuck the judicial system. You and the rest of society got your money's worth, and I thank you for that.

It sucks that they pressed charges against you. I'm surprised actually that they would. Don't mean to be nosy, and of course, you don't have to answer, but do you have a criminal history that might have made them look upon you in more of a negative light?

If a group of people surround you in a threatening way, your only real chance of defense is to have some kind of weapon (or pepper spray). I myself am a very non-violent person, but if someone got into my face, I don't care if it's a woman or a minor, I'd use reasonable force to get them away if walking away didn't work.

The problem is, that bullies usually target people that they think won't fight back. And in this day and age, most people are going to walk away from a fight. And that's really the right thing to do, but it also encourages the bully.

This was the first and only time I have ever been in trouble with the police. But you’re correct, there is a lot more to the story.

The very short story is some of the attackers were upset about the part I played in shutting down a drug house that was next door to my house for two years, they wanted revenge. The rest just followed the leader.

I was not charged until several weeks after the attacks. The charges came in the mail; I was never booked or fingerprinted. The 6 attackers made up a phony story that I attacked them. The DA had the police report with my bear spray mentioned and record of the Para-medics working on two of them, so he let them press charges.

To backup their story that I attacked them the attackers later took staged pictures of pepper spray over a large area. The mistake they made was using a different color spray than what my bear spray was. So the DA dropped the charges.

The good news is, after this attack, the drug users that I sprayed that lived near by me, moved to another city. I have not seen them since. That was over 10 years ago, so it was forth it.

We had more property theft/damage issues on my block the two years the drug house was open then the other 38 years combined. And the reason I always carried bear spray when I went for a walk. I can sleep at night now, and do not need to carry protection.

PS, if some of this does not make sense, I had minor outpatient surgery this afternoon, and on several kinds of meds.

You assume that but there's nothing in the video suggesting that. You're probably one of those who defend the police when they shoot us down. The people in the video attacking this poor mother and her baby should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. But there is absolutely nothing that shows she was being attacked because of her race.

Actually, she was attacked because of her race. read the story

Nope. I despise the awful cops that do that.

I know this question will be met harshly, but its real and I'm not trolling. You say there is nothing in the video suggesting race, was involved, but is there anything in the police videos suggesting it?

I realize some do, but not all. Why are thosr instantly assumed race related?

The only thing you are using to say race was involved is the fact that the assaulter is Black.

What people NEVER EVER talk about is that the police already have a description of the suspect before they arrive on the scene. They had the description of this suspect:

Good question. It's VERY hard to discern. The numbers are terrible in our favor. With or without being armed a Black person is killed by police every 28 hours. I think the truth lies in how situations are handled differently depending on who the suspect is. The policeman (God bless him. We need more like him) had the wherewithal to have his taser out prior and he takes the ATTEMPTED MURDERER in to custody ALIVE. How?

Conversely (now mind you, they already have his description):

The police already have their guns out. How come they don't have tasers out? How come they can't take him into custody alive? There were no immediate threats to their person (though they will argue there were since he is approaching with a knife). How come they can't do as well as the officer in the first video? Because they don't give a shit and they already have his description before the situation is approached.

Shoulda shot both of them. I think the taser might have actually been quicker as a defense in the first video. A couple of bullets might not have stopped the methhead so fast.

The cops in the second video might have just stayed in the car and talked the guy down, but once they were on foot, dude was getting shot.

I always wondered why police don't just use tranquilizer darts to subdue violent suspects. If a Bengali tiger escapes from the zoo they're going to knock him out before they are faced with killing him.
