Let me start by saying I have never once seen @dviss1 call all white people racist. And while I don't agree with Bill Maher on a lot of things I thought this was spot on!

I fixed your post for you. We all need to not stereotype and lump people into a specific group unless there is proof the whole group is what you say they are. I am a white male and I am not a terrorist or label all black people as terrorists as well as anyone I hang out with. I would never say all black people are x or y unless I have proof.

Hypothetically, if someone in here cited a study or statistic showing that black men are more likely than any other demographic to not be involved in their children's lives, how would you respond to someone saying "Black men are the worst fathers!" Obviously that statement wouldn't apply to you, because we all know you're a fantastic father, but that wouldn't offend you?

I wasn't offended as I am more than comfortable with where I stand on race, but no one should ever lump a particular race or group as if they are one. Stereotyping is often what causes many problems in society.

I think it would depend on if you said "all black men" and or just (based on the study) "if you were to take a study of the absentee fathers in the country, it'd more likely be a POC vs not".

that doesnt condemn all black men, just as saying that white men have been historically, the predominant group of home grown terrorists doesn't condemn all white men as being guilty.

there it is in black and white dviss. I highlighted it and italicized it so you can't miss it. Now I wasn't offended, not because I didn't think it pertained to me. I wasn't offended because I am very confident in my position in regards to race. If you want to help race relations then none of us should lump people as one. You may not see it and possibly because you aren't white, but I think so far at least 4 or 5 posters have responded similar to me. We all need to learn and denying it doesn't help the problem. Just trying to offer some friendly advice from a guy who has been around for over 64 years and has experienced a lot in that time. When we stop or refuse to learn is when we have more problems. I still learn something new everyday. :cheers:

That statement WOULD apply to my father and my dad.

One was never around, the other was always drunk.

Bottom line, that statement is semi true.

Which party overwhelmingly is white? Which party is do racists and bigots gravitate to? Which party has a much more diverse base of followers (and by "diverse" I don't mean poor vs rich, I mean based on ethnic and racial backgrounds)?

So for the home grown terrorist acts (thats what the last two should be classified as), which political party do they support?


That's not to say that Republicans are racist by default, but that by default, racists are almost always republicans....and Republican (and the gop) has sullied itself by getting into bed with these people and not condemning them.

This is also one of the lowest black turnout for a president I think.

Even her husband got like 94%.
