Event Things Trump Fans Should Die of Shame for, part one million

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

But under Chris and your definitions he must be a racist then right? You don't have to show me the clip, I have been a Kanye fan my whole life. Grew up on his music. Probably my favorite artist ever. He has said many pro black things in his music. He always said how he felt and that's what I always liked about him even if he did sound ridiculous at times. But under your definition he is a racist

You keep responding to me like I give a fuck what you think.

I care what @PtldPlatypus , @Orion Bailey, @bodyman5000 and 1, @MarAzul think. You? Not at all.

You are just wasting time when you respond to me.

Save that time. You'll never get it back.

Today was a lonnnnnnnnggg day. Not sure I'm gonna go back and find out what's going on. I got tagged and was like "great, what did I do now?"

This guy is laughable and made a fool of Trump. Didn't you know that?
I know quite a bit Kanye so I would be interested in knowing what you know that apparently I don’t know. Kanye doesn’t support him. The whole reason I posted the picture is because Chris and dviss day whoever wears this is racist so I asked them and nobody could answer if Kanye is racist for it. Go figure

We just celebrated MLK day this week and his message still needs to be spoken. For all the progress that's been made, there is still more to be made.

"We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools." ~ MLK
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." ~MLK
Be the peace you wish to see in the world!~MLK

Anyways @dviss1 as a white conservative male, I want to thank you for perspective. I read a lot of your posts when it comes to race because I know that you being a black man have seen racism in a different way than I ever will.
When I lived in N.Portland I saw my fair share of racism but I really appreciate your willingness to speak up. I find that for myself I have two thing important steps I have to take, first understanding that being a white guy I have benefitted just from being white, then secondly I need to listen to my minority friends when they speak up about how the color of their skin has affected them. I may not be able to ever fully understand it but I need to empathize with them and do what I can to make their lives better.
I don't always agree with you, but I definitely respect you.

Kanye is just nuts. I don't think you can ascribe anything else about him.

Clearly not the same thing - one wants improvement - one implies that the country lost it's way and needs to get back to the mythical olden days when everything was great.

I would go because the campaign that popularized that hat / slogan was built on fear mongering from aliens - and repeatedly showed an inability to stand up to racist fractions because they support the administration - despite their despicable behavior.

At some point the collection of words got an alternate meaning and to ignore it in the name of linguistic purity is silly.

You lost me at the word implies...

Your opinion. When I first saw the slogan, without any outside influence, I never once thought it was a derogatory statement on current affairs or was referring to some self grandulizing white empowerment of the past.

I simply took it as we are heading down a wrong path. lets make ourselves great again. Prior to him running for president, I didn't know much about Trump, other than the headlines. Businessman who inherited his wealth and claimed bankruptcy. but obviously has enough charisma to get on tv ( or money).

When he came out with that slogan, I was like. Okay. Isn't that what every President wants???? Isn't that what America wants? I though it was a semi stupid slogan considering how poll after poll after polls shows Americans want improvements in security, safety, roads and highways and big business pollution cleanup and government oversite.

Never did I think that it meant people want to go back to pre civil rights. This is a pure conjecture of antitrumpists trying to influence the influential.

So because some AntiTrumps and some Dems completely twisted it to mean that anyone wearing the hat is a racist supporter and might be racist themselves, I'm just supposed to follow in line??????

Fuck that, I'm still gonna call a spade a spade.

Really?? It's the school, parents AND the kids!

Look at this shit!

Video shows alleged Covington Catholic High School teens making offensive rape comments

Go ahead and spin this shit if you can....

One kid. Not kids.

I'M just saying, that all this hate put onto these kids is more than they deserved. Maybe a few of them are truly racist and brought up by racists and taught by racists, but im willing to bet my job and my lively hood that not all the kids in the group are racist and are just kids trying to fit in. They are trying to fit into the wrong crowd, but they aren't all evil kids like you and many others are trying to portray.

This is the same thing as calling all ANTIFA violent senseless criminals. I know they aren't all that way and I know they get painted that way because of a few extremists within their camp, but it still doesn't make the generalizing right. The kid who says this in the video is not the same kid who has had his life changed with death threats and all that.

Instead of dissecting this video and others to pick out the few truly racist or bigoted kids tossing statements out, the public just labelled everyone racist disrespectful punks.

So D, where is your comment about the Israelite who tossed out bigotted statements in the other video?

Why aren't you condemning them? It is no different.

This type of broad brush painting is the very issue that has followed us for many many years.

Blacks are monkeys
Whites are racist rednecks
Asians are smalldicked shorties
Russians are all bucktoothed uglies
Indians are filthy sweaty animals
Italians are stuck up showerless pricks
Women are stupid and cant drive

I could go on and on and on but I don't need to. Enough people have it covered for me in this thread.

WE MUST TREAT INDIVIDUALS AS INDIVIDUALS!!!!

This broad brush painting has got to stop.

OB, does the swastika imply anything to you? Or is that just some lines in a particular pattern?
If the former, how did that happen? The swastika is a very old symbol, much older than the Nazis.
How did it come to imply what it does for most (not all) people nowadays?

Why do you think that kind of symbolism could happen with the swastika but couldn't possibly with the MAGA hat?

Of course you are free to complain about the symbolism of either one. But your complaint doesn't mean that it isn't a symbol. It just means you don't want it to be. Same as Cippy doesn't want Pepe to be a symbol, "it's just a meme".

The MAGA hat is a symbol, ironically.

It is a symbol of how far we've fallen that people can't have different opinions.

That's crap. People can and do have different opinions, even about the MAGA hat. This thread is proof of that.

First, the swastika was a symbol forced upon the people. Maga hat wearers wear by choice.
Second, the ones using the swastika and forcing thier soldiers and citizens to wear/worship it, were actively attempting genocide. When Trump tries to slaughter a whole race, then Ill gladly turn the corner. Until then the hat is a hat that ANTI hatters are twisting it into a symbol, NOT the hat wearers themselves.

Which still doesnt make it as fact that maga hat wearers are all racist.

I agree, not all MAGA hat wearers are racist.

Similarly, not all people who display the swastika are Nazis. There are non-Nazi uses of the swastika, even today.

Wearing a symbol that has become associated with racism does create a risk that you'll be assumed to be a racist. But it's a personal choice whether that risk is important to you.

Is it not also a personal choice of the individual to ASSUME or not assume and investigate to validify said assumptions prior to coming to a judgment?

There is a reason one of the oldest timeless cliches is...

Assuming makes an ASS out of you.

I don't remember that civilians were made to wear a swastika - were they?
Yes, Trump has not committed genocide. But I wasn't comparing Trump and Hitler. Use the peace symbol instead of the swastika for the discussion if it makes you feel better.
It doesn't so much matter who is 'twisting it into a symbol'. I'd say it is Trump, not the hat wearers, but you can say it's the hat-haters, and that's fine.
It's like the 2016 election. Trump is president now whether or not Russians changed any votes. The hat is now a symbol of racism whether or not it is 'fair' or who 'did it'.

And people that consider it such portray their opinion as fact. Which was my entire point. Thanks for bolstering my opinion.

Frequently people consider their opinions to be fact. It's quite common. If that was the point you wanted to make, I doubt anyone will disagree with you.

Sure. But if your goal is to get people to stop making assumptions, well, good luck to you!

My opinion is that it is far worse than it used to be. That we've fallen from a time when we had civil debate and the Maga hat controversy is a symbol of that.

Buckley vs Vidal was groundbreaking and now would be considered tame.

2016 was a disastrous year for our country. I actually expect 2020 to be much, much worse. I think the the leadership of the political parties will be out for blood, losing wont be an option and things are going to get far more nasty than we’ve seen before.

Which still doesnt make it as fact that maga hat wearers are all racist.

I never said that. I said the hat, the slogan on it represent a racist ideology. Some people that wear them are racist. Some are just ignorant of what it truly means.
