I once worked with a Vietnamese lady who invited me and my wife over for dinner. While we were there, I noticed her husband had a swastika tattooed to his arm. The next day at work, I told a lady who worked with the Vietnamese lady about the swastika and she said "Oh, that's not a swastika. They are Buddhists and that symbol has to do with their religion." Whew, you could hear the sigh of relief coming out my mouth.

I don't know that anyone trademarked it until Trump if he did so.

I think Paris Hilton trademarked that's hot or whatever it is she said all the time. She sure didn't make that one up.

Reagan's family could probably make a case if they wanted. Doubt they will. I wouldn't be surprised to see Trump trademark it and take the credit for inventing it.
 
Its sad to think that young people look to segregation as a way of not dealing with those that differ from them, and struggle being tolerant. It's a flip flop from all the efforts by many and especially MLK to stand against segregation. I think he would be sad to see so many younger people preaching hate and political correctness. Rather than colleges having safe places now days they should go back to having love ins and and promoting integration.

Political Correctness is just a matter of being polite or not speaking derisively to a group of peaceful individuals. When it's carried to an extreme, then one can say it's carried to an extreme.
Some political correctness such as not using the 'N' word should be carried to an extreme in some cases. Of course, you've got to think of your personal safety when you're at a KKK rally or a Nazi get together or a Skinhead meeting.

Sadly there is no dialogue and sadly a certain side can't see the hypocrisy when they sit and call these kids racist assholes with proof of nothing and that the maga hat is just inherently racist. Just by saying that, they already have painted half the country racist. It's crazy.

They shouldn't be called Liberals. I honestly would consider myself a liberal. A liberal today is a lot different than what a liberal used to be. Same thing with a feminist. I don't know what to call these certain people. They aren't true progressives. I wouldn't even say the are left too. Its become a whole entire new thing, whatever the hell it is and it's weird

Look who the voters gave us in the preliminaries in 2016. Look how the voters responded to the outcome there were places that rioted for basically a month. Look at the rhetoric spewed on the airwaves of Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc 24 hours a day. I would argue that many voters are not just prepared to take the fight to opponents in 2019 and 2020, but that many of them have already made up their minds that they will be livid if the outcome isn't what they want. They are, already out for blood. The problem with our "leadership" is that 2015-2016 they stopped hiding behind the curtains pulling the strings and fueling the division Hillary and Trump came out swinging and swinging and never stopped they want us to be divided so they can profit off of it.

Heck I'm conservative and the reason I could not vote for Trump was you could tell from the beginning he was not in the business of unifying, he was in the business of dividing. Not that the DNC has really tried to unite anyone the last few years either. I think it's a scary prospect for my kids, but I hope this is just growing pains and in a couple elections time we will have matured past this.

I'm only going to take issue with your estimation of half the country being branded. Trump's supporters are somewhere in the 35% to 39% and not all of them wear those hats. So, I'm going to peg them somewhere below 20% of the voters.
