A young 7-foot PF/C that can shoot has no value? Man, Times must be changing.

Whenever I hear Blazer fans underrated or bad mouth a player. I'm like...... "You do realize the market you live in right? I think you'd be happy you had players!"

I didnt mean in a trade. Meyers is signed to a good contract going forward for a big with the skills he has, and he still has potential.
Exactly

Which untapped potentials do you expect to see converted into game play this season?

Yes. He regressed last season but is too smart and too athletic to continue to do so in my opinion. I hope/believe he is working on his foot speed this off season since his upper body lacks mobility. I really only see upside or leveling off, at this point, but my bet is on the upside. How far up is the mystery.
Id be ecstatic though if he could progress into our version of a poor mans Love. Better footspeed and boxing out in the paint on D and OFF Rebounds is what I am hoping to see from him this next season. If he can do that and combine that with his outside shot, he has a good chance of being a solid role player for us and that makes his contract one of the best in the NBA after next seasons cap raise.

A short-haired white farmboy. I am Plumlee's biggest supporter, but I don't have to like his looks. But in about a third of our games last season, I kept saying that he was our best player in that game.

Makes you want to trade for all the Plumlees and make them center by committee.

He might have value to us but know body knock his door to get either. That want I am saying he know value to other teams.

As long you have rich people you will have players. Yes for the rest of us the market sucks.

Then you can say the same thing about Ezeli. We signed him for even less than Meyers and nobody was knocking his door down either. The market was flooded with centers. In today's game, the center position isn't as important as it once was. Wings that can shoot, and defend, the 3 are much more important (just look how much Crabbe got). At the end of free agency, there were more centers available than teams in need of starting centers. That's why Ezeli was available at a bargain basement price and why Meyers was signed on a reasonable (by today's standards) contract.

So your saying ML is better than Ezeli because ML got paid more money. I say he not over Ezeli. I know this when ML got hurt the first time when he came back he couldn't get his starting spot back. Period I am not a fan of ML he can shoot a 3 decent that one aspect of the game but he is below average in everything else. But remember there was 1 team wanted Ezeli that was us ML didn't get anybody looking at him but us. One player sign due to the cap space and the other could had a bigger contract if another team wanted him but that wasnt the case. To me he sign at the high end but realistic he wasn't worth that much.

Nope, I never said that. Just pointing out the current market for centers. Ezeli got less because he is older and even more injury prone. Festus has missed 154 games in the last three years and has never averaged more than 16.7 MPG.

They are two entirely different players. Which is better? Depends on what you value/need. They are both role players with different strengths and weaknesses. Meyers isn't just a better 3-point shooter. He shoots way better from everywhere beyond 3 feet from the basket, including the FT line, where Festus is a career .557 FT shooter (that's worse than Dwight Howard who gets intentionally fouled due to his poor FT shooting). Festus is a better rebounder and a better defender.

Other than the fact that they both play for the Blazers and both can play the center position, they really don't have much in common. They are complementary players. Stotts will use them both as he sees fit. In fact, because their skill sets are so different, I suspect we'll see them playing together a fair amount, with Meyers spreading the court and Festus operating down low.
